Climate change is creating new challenges for Nigeria’s health system, from devastating floods to disrupted healthcare services. Governments need to know which facilities are most vulnerable and where to invest before disaster strikes.
At the #FHC2026 Partners Showcase, Jeremiah Edi, Project Manager at @eHealthAfrica, presented CHAT (Climate Health Vulnerability Assessment Tool).
Deployed across 52 healthcare facilities in five states, CHAT identifies climate risks and provides recommendations to guide preparedness and investment.
As climate threats increase, tools like CHAT can help governments make informed decisions, strengthen facility resilience, minimise service disruptions and protect lives.

Half the people in Haiti are struggling to feed themselves and their families and it’s expected to get worse.
@pahowho is supporting the country efforts to prevent and treat medical complications in severely malnourished children. But the needs are much larger.
We call for urgent humanitarian access and donor support to scale up the response. No one should have to live in hunger. Above all, what the people of Haiti need is peace.

We are conducting an Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Training of Trainers for facility IPC focal persons and frontline healthcare workers across public and private health facilities in the FCT to strengthen preparedness for Ebola.
The training focuses on practical skills in early identification and triage of suspected cases, infection prevention practices, standard and transmission-based precautions, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
With support from @WHO, @AfricaCDC, @UNICEF and @DRASA, the initiative will equip facility IPC focal persons to cascade knowledge and strengthen IPC implementation across healthcare facilities.
Through a better-prepared, well-equipped healthcare workforce, we are strengthening facility readiness, protecting healthcare workers and patients, and preventing healthcare-associated transmission.

What is the value of a health innovation that works but never reaches the people who need it?
Nigeria has solutions that have demonstrated their potential to improve healthcare. Yet, many remain within the projects that introduced them. The challenge is making sure their impact does not stop there. #FHC2026
