Abridge is the first Pal selected for Epic's new Partners and Pals program. The deep integration aims to help providers be more present and attentive to patients while also creating better notes, faster: businesswire.com/news/home/2…

24 years ago, our @UMichMedSchool magazine ran an article bursting with optimism about the promise of #telehealth. It took 21 years for that promise to be fulfilled here & elsewhere. I trace the history in this new story for the same magazine: michiganmedicine.org/medicin…

Reminder that there are only a few dozen doctors in the country licensed to practice telemedicine in all 50 states. I tracked some of them down for a recent column to find out what they had to go through to get there. Hint: A lot of money/time. cnbc.com/2019/10/13/telemedi…

W/ the #COVID19 virus, there is an urgency to expand the use of virtual care. CMS has made virtual check-ins, e-visits & other telecommunications services possible & available for patients concerned about illness, so they may remain home & avoid exposure. cms.gov/newsroom/press-relea…

It’s State rights to define and regulate the practice of #medicine within their borders. That being said, the imlcc.org has made great progress in breaking down the barriers. You can do your part and advocate at the state level for this legislation.
