Text from my 11 year old child on the way to school this morning. Things like this did not happen prior to the safe injection site opening. These sites cause harm to children and others who don't use illicit substances!

When people claim that safe injection sites do in fact connect people to treatment, they usually don’t provide data about how many accepted.
This is why. 👇

Here's some objective truth:
The Tenderloin Center connected 1.7% of people to treatment with no data on how many of that small percentage actually entered treatment at a cost of $22 million.

Well, they will certainly be getting a better view than almost all people on Harlem. That said, NY State is planning to demolish the building eventually. So perhaps it is ok to make use of an empty space for now…

NYC Mayor Eric Adams cites NIMBY-ism as one of the biggest challenges to his housing plan

On #PresidentsDay, it is important to recall that at least twelve U.S. presidents enslaved Black people, eight while in office. Two-thirds of the first 18 presidents collectively enslaved nearly 2,000 Black people. We know what largely built this nation, and it wasn’t freedom.

100+ Harlem residents came out last night to precinct 25 to demand more police presence. We urge officials to set aside personal ideologies & listen to what residents want-safer streets for our children. We want to end mass incarceration but we can’t put the cart before the horse

This is what we see in on our streets everyday now since the injection site open. We're destroyed. The dealers who sit outside the site claim their territory, so other dealers spread out bringing in groups of open air injectors. They come en mass, shoot up and another group...

OnPoint has $17 million funding & Harlem residents have none. There are not enough police to deal with the drug dealing here. There is no funding to pay for video camera Ma to catch drug dealers. There are hardly any media who are even brave enough to report the reality in Harlem
