Brad Bradford started 17 points behind Chow and has passed her in the final stretch of the race with a narrow 2 point lead.
I expect that gap to grow this week. Toronto is ready for change.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has embarked on a three-day visit to Turkey seeking closer relations with one of the world’s most repressive, cruel, and abusive regimes, a global leader in torturing prisoners, jailing journalists, and killing Kurds. This is the same Mark Carney who never misses a chance to condemn democratic Israel and threaten us with sanctions. Bon voyage to the hypocrite-in-chief.

For @WSJFreeEx, I spoke with Jewish New Yorkers about the Democratic Party's leftward drift and animosity toward Israel. It's not just polls—the people I talked to are concerned. As some said, this isn't the Democratic Party they once knew.

Perceptive, brilliant. One of the most important pieces written during this Toronto mayoral race. I'm surprised the Star agreed to print it. #topoli @markrmcqueen thestar.com/opinion/star-col…

A clear shift in rhetoric at a Montreal hate rally.
'Jews can stay in a liberated Palestine' used to be the party line. "We'll kick the Zios out" is now the chant.
90% of Israeli Jews are Zionists. This is a mob, calling for ethnic cleansing.

There was a deliberate effort on the part of longtime Russian operatives, sympathizers, and state media to convince Americans that Epstein worked for Israel. And it was a lie.

“Actually, in America, the reading of books is up. Sales of print books have increased nearly twenty-five per cent from a decade ago. The number of independent bookstores in the United States has climbed steeply since 2009, with a seventy-per-cent increase since 2020.”

Tucker Carlson is the largest purveyor of Hitler apologia in the United States. To act, as Vance does, like Carlson's most controversial view is opposing the Iran war is a slap in the face to every American who fought the Nazis and is beneath the office of the Vice President.
JD Vance on Tucker Carlson:
Tucker, obviously, one of the reasons he's very, very angry is over the Iran war. He does not like the Iran war.
He and I have had that conversation in private, in public. I know how he feels, and I understand.
What I've said to Tucker is, "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater."

The funny thing about the "art is political" crowd is that they don't seem too interested in actually making political art—much less good political art. They just want to talk about it, which is admittedly a lot easier.
We are disturbed to learn that @CalgaryOpera has removed bass-baritone Gabriel Sanchez-Ortega from future performances of "Tosca" after he unveiled a Palestinian flag during the curtain call on opening night. Art is political, and artists should not be punished for expressing support for the Palestinian people as they face a genocide. This decision must be reversed.

Trump Sold Out Ukraine For a Bad Diesel Deal. Every Ally is Watching
A must-read by Henry Olsen (@henryolsenEPPC)
"Acts like the recent betrayal of Ukraine undermine that effort by undermining the trust upon which our security relies. The fact that Trump seems oblivious to this is troubling. The fact that he is pushing our allies away to pursue an unreachable short-term political goal is maddening."

Reminder that Vance flew to Budapest to endorse Viktor Orbán ahead of Hungary's election.
From VP pool report (which included a readout of Vance interview with @MarkHalperin): "Vance declined to endorse Netanyahu and replied that he endorses American candidates and is not getting involved in Israeli elections"
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Vance said he endorses American candidates and is not getting involved in Israeli elections, but in April 2026 he spoke at a campaign rally for Viktor Orban in Hungary and urged voters to reelect him.

TMU hired a retired judge to investigate antisemitism on campus. The judge found the school has a double standard for Jews, and failed to enforce its own code of conduct. So the same administration that commissioned the investigation hid its conclusion. nationalpost.com/opinion/joh…
A striking contrast on the streets of Paris: A couple sits sipping drinks at an outdoor café as flames burn just steps away.
The moment was captured Saturday near the Arc de Triomphe, on the outskirts of rioting that erupted during demonstrations over rising prices, inequality and public spending.
Video shows the pair continuing their conversation as a burning trash bin lights up the background.
