It really costs you nothing to help someone who’s looking for work
If you see a role they’d be good at, send it to them
If you know the person hiring and can vouch for their work, put their name forward
Most of the gigs I’ve landed in web3 came through a mutual connection or from reaching out directly, so I know how much that can help
You can’t promise someone a job
But you might be able to get them into a conversation that can lead to something bigger

WL allocation isn’t only about knowing which communities are good.
It’s knowing who is “relevant right now”
I am definitely not gonna go back to 2021 top alpha groups or NFT projects and give them WL
Historical reputation ≠ current pull
- Attention moves fast
- Holders rotate
- Traders move on
- Communities shift focus
A group that was perfect for your mint last month may bring very little demand today.
You need to know:
1. who is holding
2. sweeping
3. posting
4. pushing in private
5 and which communities are actually aligned with your project at this “exact moment”
Some communities are DEEP in Solana NFTs, some are deep in Somnia (Idk why tf somnia, but yeah let’s not judge)
This requires being deep in the trenches, understanding context that isn’t always public, and constantly updating your view of projects, KOLs, and communities.
Get WL allocation wrong and you don’t just waste spots. You create weak distribution, low conviction, poor secondary activity, and sellers instead of holders.
Curate your WL holders carefully.
(Again, I am not whining here, I am saying this while AlphaGEMs receives one of the top allocations from nearly every project we support, cheers)
The number of spots allocated for communities doesn’t mean they are GOOD or BAD.
Some communities are not vocal enough on X
But they are goated traders, collectors and actually push projects forward
Or they are full of diamond holders with less exposure to many rugs, so less PTSD
I advise any upcoming founder or collab manager not to base their decision only on previous collabs & numbers
The WL is your currency to negotiate and carefully curate your future holders
Don’t underestimate this
It’s on YOU to pick your future holders and supporters
It’s true that exposure is needed with “vocal” communities & KOLs
But always keep in mind that you most likely don’t want to become like every other project
gain, it depends on you to make sure the WLs are not farmed, are uniquely distributed, cover different countries and regions for maximum exposure, and include market makers, collectors, traders, etc
What kills projects is not flippers
It’s people who mass list a project and ruin the floor price, or when the team doesn’t control enough of the supply (1 out of many reasons)
That’s why sometimes you see successful tokens get bundled at first
Important note: this won’t guarantee you "success"

Another important note: I am saying this while we get almost the top allocations for every project, usually a full allocation.
Just trying to be clear here, because if this were posted by another founder getting lower spots, it would be regarded as whining or a skill issue.
Trying to be real here. It might affect our allocations, but yeah, it has to be said.

Everything online is starting to feel the same to me.
Same feeds, same takes, same content recycled a hundred different ways until none of it actually means anything.
The stuff that's actually stuck with me this year has been the opposite.
A dinner with people I respect, or a trip that I'll remember for years.
I genuinely think the biggest flex going forward isn't what you own or what you know.
It's having a life good enough that you don't feel the need to be glued to your phone.
While everyone else is sitting alone consuming endless bullshit, you need to not be that guy and go and live life.
