So glad I won't need to find a new place for my research science updates 😀 (twitter: you can turn down the revenue rate now... it seems like my feed has been crammed with ads lately)

It's great to see Rudiger receive this well-deserved honor!
The Shannon award to Rudiger Urbanke is both terrific news and a long overdue recognition to one of the most influential information and coding theorists of the last quarter century. 1/n

First Nature #npjQI paper! rdcu.be/cmy8k with @kausesh @HenryDPfister & Saikat Guha @azengineering. My collaborators have an initial experimental test: arxiv.org/abs/2102.13052. This might be another way to demonstrate quantum supremacy, albeit specific to optical comm.
New paper out! See arxiv.org/abs/2003.04356 for a detailed analysis of a Belief-Propagation with *Quantum* Messages (BPQM) algorithm that Joseph Renes from ETH came up with a few years back. We show that it suggests a potentially new application for a photonic quantum computer.
