Pleased to share our study on gaps in awareness of metabolic liver disease. Among 1,000 US adults with elevated metabolic risk, 60% recognized “fatty liver disease,” but only 13% were familiar with #MASLD and 12% with #MASH. Just 13% reported concern about liver disease. These findings reinforce why liver health needs to be part of our everyday conversations with patients about obesity and diabetes.

Nearly 1 in 5 youth with biopsy-confirmed #MASLD began drinking during adolescence or early adulthood.
In the largest longitudinal study of its kind, researchers followed more than 1,100 youth and found that alcohol use was associated with faster increases in liver enzymes, reinforcing the importance of routine alcohol screening and developmentally tailored counseling in pediatric MASLD care.
