Sadly, we have been informed that the number of martyrs from the terrorist attack on St George’s Church in Jordan has risen from 7 to 9. We pray for our brothers who have borne witness to Christ through their martyrdom, as well as for the swift recovery of the injured.

What's everyone's favorite translation/compilation of the Bible? I was raised on KJV which is obviously so good, poetic, beautiful, and familiar as far as textus receptus. But I have found NRSV to be exceptional. Like I never would have had any thought about so many things that are found in the wider body of source texts which are known to have been widely used in ancient times and the modern English is a nice thing. The footnotes with alternate Greek-to-English is wonderful, too. For the Septaguint, I've been reading the NETS. Obviously reading the prophets, gospels, and apostles at all is the primary concern. But do you have suggestions or one you love in particular?

Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner. A beautiful Divine Liturgy à la St. John Chrysostom today. I expect to be received as a catechumen on November 1 and I already find myself in one of the many deserts I am sure to experience. Please pray for me and my wife to be united in love and be rid of the turmoil of our interfaith marriage.

can we get a parallel universe series called the Orthodogs where they just go about doing good, loving everyone, politely reminding their children that they are in but not of the world? Chili's dad can be the same as he is and Uncle Rad can be the online debater.

Some are more... special... than others.
I have made baguette and they turned out really lovely. I'm quite pleased.

I've been using it to straighten my home askesis as an inquirer (should be received into catechumen on November 1!!!) and I also cannot recommend it enough. The only features hidden behind paywall are convenience ones like the all reading to you, etc. all the essential things: - daily reading - prayer rule (editable so you can add!) - fasting schedule - daily saints' stories l Totally free. Whoever made it rules.
This Orthodox ☦️ app called "Athon" is actually amazing. I've been using it for a few days now, and I thought I'd share it. I'm NOT paid or affiliated, I just want others to know about it! It keeps you praying, fasting, there's a chapel where you can request/pray for others, read the Word, Saints, Fathers, etc. just look at this screen recording of my account! There's also an AI where you can ask it anything regarding Orthodoxy, I've tried it and while I usually don't support AI in theology, it's actually very well done. Again this isn't an ad, I'm just someone who found this app and has been loving it. It even has awesome widgets you can add to your home screen that tracks your prayer times, shows scripture, saints, fathers, etc. everything Orthodox you could possibly need is in this app!

When I listen to War Mode, it feels like my internal dialogue in my dreams when I've had just a touch too much L-theanine.

Another beautiful Divine Liturgy. It's funny... my wife, a Mormon, asks me "what did you learn today?" because in their congregations it's nonstop homily and it's typically from lay people, open to their own interpretation no matter how heterodox. So I always tells her "I learned more about myself and how tuned in I am with God." It is truly the diagnosistic work and the medicine.

How I feel about it.
Watching France and knowing we are only a few years behind them is an awful feeling.

The Filioque led to this, I bet.

"The man called Jesus made mud and said to me 'go to Siloam and wash.' Then I went and washed and received my sight." To the Pharisees: "He put mud on my eyes. Then I washed, and now I see... ... I do not know whether he is a sinner. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see." He finally confesses to the Pharisees that Jesus was sent from God, for who could open the eyes of a man born blind? We're all a little bit this man born blind, looking for God and only in confessing the miracles of our lives and days, correctly attributing them, do we find Him.
