It's not radical or cruel for Republicans to slash Medicaid, and won't cause some mass carnage. It simply restores us to the status quo of a few years ago, before a decision that we can now see was ill-advised. Much of the untenable and continuing increase is due to fraud.

After Obamacare passed, total spend on Medicaid went from $450 billion to ~ $1 trillion.
And remember anytime anyone tries to touch even the rate of Medicaid spend some academic will roll out a study suggesting mass death will result if you try to curb Medicaid spending or improve oversight.

The Atlantic assumes people who use X for information are as intellectually lazy as its own readers who are content to be spoon-fed.
They frame it as “MAGA supporters hunting for voter fraud” when people look at videos, affidavits, roll data, or chain-of-custody issues, think for themselves, and then discuss and argue the counterpoints in the threads. Any scrutiny that doesn’t come pre-chewed by MSM is treated like a threat by The Atlantic and the rest of legacy media.
The real threat to The Atlantic, legacy media, and the narrative they serve is people thinking for themselves.
Pre-Musk Twitter suppressed election posts under pressure from the Biden-Harris administration and all of legacy media. Now that the platform doesn’t filter for them, The Atlantic has to present X users as too dumb to handle primary sources—an attempt to herd people back into compliance.
X is noisy. So is everything else. The difference is the interaction. The pushback and the source links are right there to be challenged and worked through in the thread — not buried or never published.
For those who choose to be spoon-fed, The Atlantic is still available.
A lot of us woke up, and The Atlantic is not happy about it.
