The political irony in Texas is WILD. In 2017, Republicans eliminated straight-ticket voting. Greg Abbott can no longer drag Ken Paxton across the finish line with one push of a button.
Republicans can vote for Abbott and skip Paxton entirely.
And with Democrats chasing their first Texas Senate victory since 1988, those split-ticket voters could matter.
Republicans eliminated the Republican button. Now Paxton has to earn their own votes (and that’s looking increasingly more difficult).
