I remember Dr. Foxx when she first joined the Rules Committee and I was staff director. She took the role seriously and was a fantastic Member. She's the kind of experienced leader that committee needs. I wish her the best, knowing she'll be great.

Dan and I served together as the R&D staff directors of the Rules Committee. He was a good friend and a worthy opponent. He was someone I spoke with often when I thought about what to do after the Hill. This is another tragedy for this family. He’ll be missed.
Washington lost a great man this week.
Dan worked in a House when giants still roamed those halls. And they all counted on him for his advice.
Rs knew his word was his bond. And Obama WH knew he was a key hire.
