Remember the days we'd sit on the top deck of the bus looking at the Christmas lights? It was so exciting to see the shop window displays.
Good morning, pedestrianised Oxford Street. 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🚶🏻

I loved this when first broadcast on BBC. The only film version I've seen and equally loved is Clueless with Alicia Silverstone.
Watching the old TV adaptation of Emma with Romola Garai and Johnny Lee Miller, by far the best scripted and cast yet strangely less well-known than the dire film versions. Garai radiantly lovely and lively.

The local harbour put up quite a fight against the ocean during Storm Austen. I returned home with a bunch of photos and one very salty face.

I totally agree. I've been blocked by my own MP @HackneyAbbott who doesn't wish to hear my views or criticisms of her public pronouncements. It's undemocratic, and a disgrace.
I've been blocked by Labour MP Apsana Begum. I've called her out numerous times for what I believe is her habit of prioritising issues affecting Bangladesh over the needs of the British people she was elected to represent. Now she's blocked me. It seems she can't handle scrutiny of her political priorities from me, a British voter. This is the first time I've ever been blocked by a sitting Member of Parliament. I find it highly disrespectful that an elected MP has chosen to block me. MPs hold public office, are accountable to the British people and should expect their actions to be subjected to public scrutiny. Blocking criticism doesn't make the questions go away.

The anti Monarchists at @thetimes trying to drag the Royal Family into this tawdry mess. Why would the Metropolitan Police discuss a private matter involving her family?
Kate Mansey of the Times: The Met did not share the letter with the Royal Family.

I haven't rewatched one Pro Dance on #Strictly this series. Can we return to proper dancing highlighting their skills, not posing & posturing rubbish? Something elegant would be nice! Remember the days when the Pros would demonstrate the dance selected for contestants next week?
What on earth was that all about! What has happened to the beautiful professional numbers we used to have? Very disappointing. #Strictly

October’s #FullMoon peaks in the early hours of 26 October. It is known as the Hunter’s Moon. “The moon stays longest for the Hunter now: The trees cast down their fruitage, and the blithe And busy squirrel hoards his winter store;” – John Gardiner Calkins Brainard (1796–1828).

The BBC has agreed to pay £400,000 to an award-winning Jewish documentary-maker who alleged she was subjected to antisemitism and pushed out of the corporation after October 7. Lucie Kon, 57, spent 22 years at the BBC and worked on programmes including Panorama, Today, BBC Breakfast and Storyville. Films she commissioned or helped produce won an Oscar, Emmy and Bafta. Kon says her treatment changed dramatically after the Hamas attacks. She alleges colleagues described Zionists like her as “evil”, argued that Israel should be called terrorist if Hamas was, and told her to consider what had driven Hamas to carry out the massacre. When she proposed a documentary about October 7, Kon says she was told she was “too partial” to oversee it because she was Jewish. She subsequently filed a formal grievance, but a BBC investigation rejected her complaint. Kon says she was then kept away from work for months. During a restructuring, her position was made redundant and she failed to secure the similar role replacing it. She launched unfair-dismissal proceedings. The BBC has now agreed substantial compensation, reported as £400,000, without admitting liability or accepting that Kon suffered antisemitism. Kon says Jewish employees still at the corporation continue to face hostility and feel unable to identify openly as Jewish or Zionist.

Another idiotic decision by the @BBC they're determined to ruin viewers' enjoyment and lower numbers watching. 🫩
What the heck is @BBCSport doing? Just watching World Gymnastics Championships to hear Christine, @craigdavidheap and Matt Baker announcing this is their last champs commentating. These three along with the great Mitch Fenner introduced the sport to new audiences. Will miss you 3

Predictably press negativity already begun before The King leaves for the Carribbean on Tuesday. "‘Who really are these royals and what is their significance?’ Some locals were unimpressed by the presence of Sophie, Countess of Wessex in the Caribbean in 2022" Feel free to leave.

I'm afraid our late Queen made the biggest mistake of her reign giving the Sussex titles to them on the morning of the wedding. By then it was already clear they were both behaving abominably causing trouble behind the scenes & were planning to leave. It emboldened MM to continue

I'm not clicking on any articles, our idiotic press has lost any sense paying the trailer trash American family. But I have just watched HG Tudor who describes how they "make things worse by only communicating by letter or through the press". Exactly what H&M do to the RF. Vile!
