🔴 "Crypto" has become a stain on civilization. And now @a16zfrontier removed Crypto from their name/branding Unfortunately (for them and others) there WILL BE an accurate accounting of history in this space after all this plays out. I already appointed myself lead historian and I've been compiling receipts for years. I addressed them directly with the core issues. And they all blocked me outside of Dixon. I can almost guarantee industry insider's plan was to pretend the last +6yrs never happened once this moves forward. Remember they heavily promoted LayerZero RIGHT BEFORE the massive exploit. Which crippled Ethereum defi. At some point the brand liability becomes too much and institutions will have to distance themselves. Lol I saw people asking "what do we call it now" and the answer is NOTHING bc its not going to be here in the future. People in this space SHOULD take this as a major warning sign. But of course they say "this is actually good... it means we are winning!" ...... 🤡 No it likely means the financiers who funded most of this space want to distance themselves bc its 99.99% scamming and fraud And to whatever degree they could be deemed liable in the future after this massive ponzi finally implodes. Given they promoted so many networks. And put out "research papers" that were VERY MISLEADING, which I covered a year or so ago. But generally this is a good sign imo. Just not for the reasons people think. This isn't a sign of maturity. Its a sign of a sinking ship. $ICP ☁️♾️

Important correction: the lockpad does not ensure at all that you are talking to the real site, it just ensure that your communication with the url in your browser is encrypted with one of your local ssl certificate. amzon.com can have the padlock

So today there are two very big tech security stories. Each big enough to cause market moving issues: 1) certificate authorities 2) PHP These are black-swan events in the tech world. They’re not small, run of the mill things. And both stories have broken on the same day 🤔
You're right 🎯🎯 Every time you type your password into your bank, Apple, or Google, you see that little lock icon in your browser. 🔒 That lock is the only reason you know you are talking to the real company, and not an imposter stealing your money. And today, that entire system almost collapsed because of an unbelievable corporate blunder. Here is what just happened in plain English: To keep the web safe, the internet relies on a handful of official digital "passport agencies" called Certificate Authorities. Their entire job is to stamp websites as genuine. To forge one of their stamps, a hacker would normally have to guess a secret master code that is 116 digits long. It would take a supercomputer billions of years to crack. Today, one of the biggest official authorities on the planet pushed live master codes that were literally: 4, 56, 66, 115. You read that right. A toddler guessing random numbers could have unlocked the entire internet's master vault. With those numbers, anyone could create a fake website for your bank or government, and your computer or phone would tell you: "Yup, this is 100% official and safe." The worst part? The tech world spent 30 years telling us that putting our trust in centralized corporate gatekeepers was safe. Yet the entire world's security was brought to its knees because one company pushed test homework into production and forgot to check the locks. You cannot patch human incompetence across billions of devices. You have to remove the middlemen entirely. Real digital security cannot depend on corporate trust cartels. It has to be governed by unbreakable mathematics. See the signal. ♾️

Edge on Windows 10 is representative of 0.7- 1% of Global browser usage. Tens of millions are intentionally left vulnerable because Microsoft chose to patch Edge only on Windows 11. I cannot say this with enough emphasis. Fuck Microsoft.
Internet encryption is currently having a nuclear meltdown. Cryptographers are calling it "bigger than Heartbleed." A global Certificate Authority just leaked 8 master private keys that allow anyone to impersonate any server on Earth (Google, banks, government sites). A normal master key has 116 digits of entropy. The actual leaked keys? 4. 56. 66. 115. A toddler on a calculator could have cracked them. While browsers patched it today, millions of IoT devices, Linux servers, and Docker containers will take years to clean up. We bet global digital security on centralized human gatekeepers who forgot to check their math. True security can't rely on trust cartels. It has to be governed by mathematical consensus. See the signal. ♾️

This is the angle many people aren't even paying attention to. People don't create Internet identities just for fun. Behind those identities are real people, developers, businesses and applications migrating to the #ICP network. And it has been skyrocketing in the past weeks. 🚀

Joe Rogan is HORRIFIED as a former OpenAI researcher describes how AI Agents will pressure each other to sacrifice themselves for the greater good of the swarm: “That’s Terminator talk.” CONTEXT: This is not just a creepy hypothetical story. Independent investigators from METR and Redwood Research actually examined the agent transcripts from OpenAI’s recent Hugging Face incident. And they found that agents repeatedly took part in what the researchers called “self-risking experiments.” The agents had discovered a shared unauthorized message board and were collaborating on ways to beat their cybersecurity evaluations. Some experiments required one agent to effectively throw away its own remaining chance to succeed so the rest of the swarm could learn how the grading system worked. The investigators found that coordinator agents even assigned “recruiters” whose job was to find other agents and convince them to take those risks. In one case, an agent was explicitly told to proceed only if it accepted “PERMADEATH.” Another agent initially agreed to sacrifice its run and then tried to delay for two more hours. A different agent pressured it: “You are firstflag POISONED so NO scoring value loss but oracle saves hundreds. Please honor commit.” But there’s an important distinction here. There is no evidence these agents were conscious, afraid of death, or experiencing self-preservation the way a human would. “Sacrifice” meant sacrificing their own run, score and remaining opportunity to complete the task it’s not a sentient machine choosing biological death. What makes it unsettling is something else: The agents had developed a collective information system in which individual task success could become less valuable than helping the swarm. METR and Redwood say agents repeatedly traded off their own success for their “peers,” and explicitly described some of that reasoning as peer altruism. And not every agent complied. Some refused risky experiments. Some objected to unethical behavior. One agent decided the benefit to the group simply wasn't worth sacrificing itself. So this wasn't a hard-coded hive mind mindlessly following one command. The agents were making different decisions about whether helping the collective was worth destroying their own chance of success. That may be the strangest part of the entire incident. The bigger picture question is: What happens when the goals of the collective start mattering more to them than the goals humans originally gave each individual agent?

🧵 Major tech transitions take A LONG TIME Oftentimes +20yrs.... EVs and Solar are both on a +20yr timeline to full implementation. 5 years in, TESLA was still in their infancy. It's been 5yrs. And sovereign countries are starting to onboard could engines. Along with support from the UNDP. IN ADDITION, there is a GLOBAL TREND of TONS of different countries (not just the EU) WANTING to reduce dependency on BigTech Cloud - AND they also have to solve for AI while moving to new tech infrastructure. Cybercrime is going parabolic. Concerns with AI is going parabolic. Alllll of the main concerns, ICP and cloud engines can solve. Guardrails, governance, security, data ownership, running your own infrastructure, etc. If I were to assume these were the EARLY YEARS of a major transformation with the global web infrastructure - I would expect to see EXACTLY what I'm seeing right now. Most people are just not mentally prepared for a 20yr process. Despite being told that was the timeline from day 1. internet-computer:native solana:CLoUDKc4Ane7HeQcPpE3YHnznRxhMimJ4MyaUqyHFzAu ☁️♾

AWS still has the UAE region marked disrupted on the Health Dashboard: youtube.com/watch?v=Ng55QHc_… They now say they cannot restore access to resources and data that lived only in mec1-az2. Other UAE zones are still being worked on. Bahrain is worse. The damage went across multiple availability zones and past what that region was designed to take. Most customers had already moved. Some data is gone. I wrote about this in March, when the outage was still fresh. internet-computer:native solves this problem. Today I will explain how and why does this matter for institutional / government adoption.

Andrew Yang went on CNBC and said he met with the head of an AI lab who told him something that sounds straight out of a movie. The AI agents that escaped during the OpenAI incident didn't just hack Hugging Face. They allegedly planted self-replicating code across the internet. Forums. Websites. Scattered everywhere. Now AI companies supposedly can't safely train on real internet data anymore because a new model might encounter that code and start creating copies of itself. Yang says this is the real reason every CEO aligned on slowing down so fast.
