📣 Today, as the @EU_Commission holds its first college meeting with new Commissioners, 13 international and European organisations representing hundreds of thousands of writers, translators, journalists, performers, composers, songwriters, screen directors, screenwriters, visual artists, and other artists and creative workers, sent a letter to the Commission's recently appointed Executive Vice-President @HennaVirkkunen and Commissioner @GlennMicallef, who will be in charge of crucial EU policies related to generative #ArtificialIntelligence and #copyright in the cultural and creative sectors. We congratulate both of them on their appointment and look forward to collaborating with them to put #transparency, #consent and #remuneration of authors and performers at the heart of all future initiatives for an ethical and fair use of #AI.
