Our @IPATS_NASCCRS nurse specialist Pamela had the pleasure of bringing a special patient on her Birthday from @GOSHCharity today back to @CHI_Ireland. Our team brought her over a few weeks ago for specialist surgery & were delighted to close the circle of care today 🎂🎈🎈

Today we completed a full circle of care for one of our patients. A t.crit IPATS t/f into #PICU @CHI_Ireland followed 6/7 later by a t/f to @KingsCollegeNHS with @IrishAirCorps & finally via our Repat team back to @CUH_Cork to finish recovery. Right care, time & place @HSELive

We are seeing a sharp uptick in serious #flu cases in children in our hospitals and PICU. All children from 2-17yr can get a free painless nasal spray vaccine from their pharmacy or GP. Highly effective at preventing serious illness. Please share with your loved ones this 🎄🧑🎄

Our repatriation team is currently completing its 140th transfer on our 1st anniversary. Over 500 bed days saved in @CHI_Ireland but most importantly, 140 children brought safely back to their fantastic local paediatric wards for continuing care. Onwards & upwards for 2025!

You only need to care for one child who dies or survives with life changing injuries from secondary sepsis after chicken pox to be absolutely overjoyed at this news. It’s a vaccine I’ve recommended for friends & family since it became available but has been expensive until now 🥲
Babies born from this month onwards will now be offered the chickenpox vaccine, which is being added to the HSE immunisation scheme rte.ie/news/2024/1002/147309…
