🚨José Mourinho on Kylian Mbappé’s missed penalty in Real Madrid’s defeat to Real Betis: 🎙️ Reporter: “José, do you think Kylian Mbappé should have been given another opportunity after the missed penalty?” 🗣️ José Mourinho: “Sometimes we watch football like we are blind. We see the situation, but we choose not to see it. For me, the penalty should be retaken. The Betis players entered the box too early. It is clear. They are already inside before Kylian makes contact with the ball. And of course, you can say, ‘It didn’t affect the kick.’ How do you know? You are not inside the player’s head. When you are taking a penalty, you are already under pressure. You see players moving into the box, you see what is happening around you. It can distract you. The rule is simple. If the players enter the area too early, you retake the penalty when the conditions require it. So why make the rules complicated? Sometimes I honestly don’t understand refereeing decisions. But what can we do? We accept, we move on and we prepare for the next match. But if we want consistency in football, we have to apply the rules the same way for everyone.”
