Deep dive on how we're *significantly more reliable* in terms of first year issues than what's normal for the appliance industry (and what issues we fixed in the first year+ of shipping units)

My @maticrobots robot vacuum and my @ImpulseLabs stove are by far the best home appliances I own.
Prediction: startups are absolutely going to mog the incumbent in home appliances. Clothes washers are ripe for disruption.

DM me for more specifics but:
now at the point where there's an opportunity to build the power electronics+controls stack well beyond the "stove" market.
+ work w/ a super experienced team with deep experience shipping hardware at scale.
needing to ban gas stoves is a skill issue

SF is where you can just show up to your friend's stove company office with steaks and cook them

Jon Kung came by the office a while back — we also met up in Detroit during @reindsummit.
Really exciting to get @ImpulseLabs into more kitchens!

SITUATION EXPLAINED: Why is the mid-size appliance market the most overlooked opportunity in hardware?
We asked @sdamico, founder and CEO of @ImpulseLabs
"How did Palmer get Oculus off the ground? The low-hanging fruit was ready to be kicked. He could be in a trailer in his parents' driveway and basically make a better VR headset than had ever been built before."
"I was like, okay, what space looks like Palmer in his parents' driveway? And realized that basically we had done the small devices. Elon and China had done the big devices. No one had done anything smart in between those two things."
"There are a lot of reasons why this wasn't done... distribution's annoying, it needs safety and compliance, it requires an installation. But then once you're in that market, it's a big market. The appliance market's like a trillion dollar market."

It's been amazing to own, we thought we would miss the gas range but turns out we like the induction stove more. The temperature control is amazing.

One thing that makes deep frying hard at home is that if you don’t use a huge amount of oil, the oil temp drops as soon as you put food in, making for a worse fry.
@ImpulseLabs cooktop dynamically adjusts the burner output to maintain a set temp, overcoming this problem!
