Good job it’s a separate independent charity “In a world of disinformation, distrust and division, we share the BBC’s values, skills and experience to bring people together, and foster greater understanding and trust.” Sounds like money well spent by the US.

The Times has written a piece today about the referees tax status case. There is a glaring omission, which has resulted in a significant error in their reporting. The Times reports that individuals pay less tax when they work via limited companies, by comparing income tax rates with dividend tax rates. The HUGE ERROR is that they have failed to take into account corporation tax. For high earning high-profile people, working via limited companies, they will be paying 25p out of each pound as corporation tax. The rate for dividends is 39.35%. The effective tax rate is 54.5%. Compared to employees who pay 45%. It's simply untrue to claim that people working via limited companies (earning more than about £70k) pay less tax than employees. The Times story: thetimes.com/business-money/… #tax #thesundaytimes #pgmol #taxstatus

@1903Lounge hi, are you open in terminal 1? I’m getting conflicting information and Etihad can’t confirm.

Question: why haven’t we solved the text issues yet. I appreciate the rendering isn’t possible. But why can’t it be super imposed as a separate task?

Hi @elonmusk, any possibility of donating a SpaceX flight suit? We’re at the UK’s National Space Centre in Leicester and think it’d be enormously inspiring for the young space explorers! #SpaceX #nationalspacecentre #UK #ESA

Maybe the MPs should start listening to the select committees in the HoC and HoL before waiving through the tripe that HMT/HMRC serve up from their ivory towers. #IR35 #LoanCharge

Rishi Sunak’s wife is earning tens of millions from her shares in a company still operating from Moscow. His tough talk on Putin’s regime is compromised by private conflict of interest. Why is he still refusing to answer questions about Infosys?

Rishi Sunak can go swivel after what he did to the self-employed. #NeverRishi

How dare PM claim to have got all the “big calls” right?  186,094 deaths & he missed 5 COBRA meetings, late into lockdowns, PPE preparedness fiasco, contracts to mates, £96.35 UK sick pay amongst worst in Europe; multiple school free-meal and exam fiascos #PMQs

Oh.
"Brexit has had an estimated 11.2% negative impact on UK trade. UK share of world trade has fallen by a further 15%." Must-read, painstaking piece about the damage Britain is doing to itself due to that vote to leave the EU. theguardian.com/commentisfre…
