The White Wizard

BEING ABROAD DOES NOT MEAN I DO NOT KNOW OGUN STATE To those asking how I can aspire to become the Governor of Ogun State while staying abroad, let me make one thing clear: Being outside Nigeria does not mean being disconnected from the people, challenges, and realities of Ogun State. My presence abroad does not erase my roots, my knowledge of Ogun State, or my commitment to the welfare of its people. Humanitarian service abroad has given me opportunities to serve humanity, gain experience, and understand how effective systems can improve people’s lives. I understand that governance is not about where a person is physically located at every moment; it is about understanding the needs of the people, developing practical solutions, building the right team, and demonstrating the capacity to deliver results. Ogun State is made up of different communities, local governments, and constituencies, each with its own needs and aspirations. From education and healthcare to roads, security, agriculture, employment, and economic development, these issues deserve serious attention, proper consultation, and actionable solutions. The real question should not be simply, “Where are you?” but “What is your vision for Ogun State, and how I will deliver on it?” I believe leadership must be judged by competence, integrity, accountability, vision, and the ability to serve I remain committed to a better Ogun State where every community matters, every citizen deserves opportunities, and public resources are used for the benefit of the people. My aspiration is about service, not geography. My focus is on the people of Ogun State and the future we can build together. Ogun State deserves leadership with vision, capacity, compassion, and accountability. Let us focus on the issues that matter and the future our people deserve. —— Dr BÓLÁJÍ MARIÊ ODÙSÍNÀ BMO
