"Spend enough time in this market and you'll see a ton of projects bolting a blockchain onto services that don't need one."
Spend enough time in this market and you'll see a ton of projects bolting a blockchain onto services that don't need one. Blockchains are slower and more expensive than Web2. Those projects usually end up with no users and no revenue. That's not to say Web2 is outdated. Web3 can open up areas Web2 can't reach, and that's the lens to approach it with. To me, the market that fits that best is finance. Finance has always needed a third party to vouch for both sides of a trade. Banks, clearinghouses, custodians. Blockchain can replace that costly, slow middle layer with verifiable code. That's where blockchain actually earns its place.

Hey Cardano fam, it's been a minute. ngl, the bear hit Kora Labs and Ada Handles hard. We had to cut back bigly. But we're still here building. We've actually built quite a bit and I will share some of that from this account and the @adahandle account will liven up again too.

1/10 After years of work on Genius Yield, I am sad to see its operations winding down, and I am sorry that users have been left worried about accessing their assets. My immediate priority is to help you withdraw from staking vaults and claim your available rewards.

CAP-3 v4 is up. It's the version where the comments did most of the work. Quick reminder of what CAP-3 is: it turns the Net Change Limit from a single number into a plan. Alongside the overall ceiling, each NCL action allocates that ceiling across a handful of high-level categories, agreed in the same vote. Then every treasury withdrawal has to say which category it draws from and stay inside it. How much, and what for, decided together. What changed in v4: A withdrawal can draw from more than one category. Seun asked where a developer education programme would sit, R&D or Community. Answer: wherever the proposer says, with an amount from each, and each part capped by its category. No one has to adjudicate it. The category lives in the withdrawal's metadata. One official place to read it. Who defines versus who enforces is now spelled out. Categories are written into the NCL action and take effect when DReps vote it through. The Constitutional Committee enforces them at the constitutionality check, exactly as it enforces the NCL today. Those two things were reading as a contradiction before. They aren't. The 67% threshold now sits in its own guardrail. SIPO asked for the mechanism and the number to be assessable separately, in the actual text and not just in the analysis. They now are. You can back the plan and still argue about the threshold. Continuity is stated. If no NCL is in force, nothing changes from today: no withdrawals until one is agreed. And with the lock gone in v3, a new NCL action can lower the ceiling mid-period if conditions turn. Unused capacity lapses with the period. A ceiling is not a target. And one new sentence in the motivation that I think is the best argument for the whole thing, which Styg made and I hadn't: agreed categories give us a way to read a finished period back against what we said we'd do. We've never had that. Thanks to Seun, SIPO, Styg, Will, wakuda and M.Dyamond for pushing on this across three revisions. Every one of these changes started as a comment. Read it, and tell me what's still wrong: cap.intersectmbo.org/#/detai…

I first built this as a visualisation for myself, but I think more people will enjoy it: our beautiful Cardano ecosystem: lovelace.land Built from crawling public sources and on-chain data via Yaci Store MCP. Early version, so please report anything odd or missing 🧵

And to anyone who os wondering whats the big deal? With minMargin in place we can remove the minPoolCost threshold for small stakepools. So no entry bar anymore. Every delegator gets the same rewards. minMargin will represent a reasonable value to provide income for pool operators and makes the chain/protocol basically able to survive on its own.

CIP-23 (minPoolMargin) は、近日実施予定の Dijkstra ハードフォークで完全に実装されます!
SPOs - we did it! minMargin CIP23 will be fully included in the upcoming Dijkstra Hardfork to PV12 and not in PV13 many months away! Was not easy, but the CoreDevTeam showed that they are listening and are willing to make things possible. ❤️ So a big thank you to the DevTeam, lets keep working together. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

Introducing the Cardano Research Exchange #1 The Cardano Research Exchange is a series of live, interactive sessions that brings research happening across the Cardano ecosystem into the spotlight. The aim is to make ongoing research more visible, give researchers a platform to share their work, and create opportunities for the community to contribute feedback and help shape what gets explored next. The series welcomes research initiatives from across the ecosystem, including other research teams. Researchers can share ongoing work, discuss their findings, and gather input from the community, while participants get a better understanding of the research taking place across Cardano and the opportunity to contribute their own perspectives. In this first episode, led by @manv_sc and Juan Ignacio Beccuti Vázquez, we take a high-level look at the @Cardano_CF's research initiatives. This session serves as part 1 of a 3-part series, with the following two sessions taking a closer look at research related to "The Effect of Parameter Changes on SPO and Delegator Incentives." Topics covered in Episode #1: 00:01 - Introduction to the Cardano Research Exchange 03:57 - Core Research Focus Areas 05:54 - Overview of Research Streams & Publications 08:35 - Ongoing Research Initiatives 13:22 - Upcoming Sessions: Parameter Changes, Incentives & Monetary Policy

CIP-23 (minPoolMargin) will be implemented in full for the upcoming Dijkstra Hard Fork! Huge appreciation to @ATADA_Stakepool and the SPOs who pushed for this, and to the members of the @IOGroup ledger team who are doing the implementation work for FREE 🔥🔥🔥

GNP1 has updated our DRep profile. If you believe small pools deserve a fair go, that minPoolCost should be scrapped or swapped for a min margin, & that treasury money should fund real building not echo chamber conferences, delegate your vote to us. gov.tools/drep_directory/dre… @Cerkoryn
