🇨🇳🇩🇪 CHINESE SATELLITE APPROACHES WESTERN MILITARY COMMUNICATIONS SATELLITE A joint investigation by NDR, WDR and Süddeutsche Zeitung has revealed that China’s TJS-20 satellite has been manoeuvring near an Inmarsat communications satellite also used by Germany’s Bundeswehr. French space surveillance company Aldoria independently confirmed approaches to approximately 100 km. Some interesting details: • TJS-20 was launched in October 2025 and is suspected by Western intelligence officials of having electronic intelligence capabilities. • The manoeuvres have reportedly been monitored for several months. • Inmarsat customers were reportedly advised to change communications frequencies. • Germany’s Defence Ministry declined to comment on the specific threat, citing military security. An additional OSINT finding: Public orbital catalogues place TJS-20 (NORAD 66142) near Inmarsat-5 F1 (NORAD 39476) at approximately 62.5°E. This makes Inmarsat-5 F1 a strong candidate for the unidentified satellite, although its identity has not been officially confirmed. There is no public evidence that encrypted military communications were successfully intercepted.
