I can remember "no where are you REALLY from" being the butt of jokes as an obviously racist thing to say back in the 80s. So I'm not sure "oh that poor old dear, she's only had half her life to come to terms with modern racial etiquette" quite cuts it tbh.

this is an obvious criticism but it is v depressing how all of these are about criminal punishment. imo the real way to end violence against women is resources —access to housing, abolition of “no recourse to public funds”, funding for women’s services/refuges & community centres
