Talarico: "Elon Musk is trying to buy this Senate seat in Texas. We just found out that the richest man in the world is almost single-handedly bankrolling this effort to install Ken Paxton in the Senate and defeat the movement that we are building. In all likelihood, if you've seen an attack ad on your TV, that was Elon. If you've gotten lies in your mailbox, that was Elon. If you've received a text message saying scary things about me with scary black and white photos. That was Elon too."

Today, 62 former U.S. ambassadors and national security leaders endorsed my campaign for U.S. Senate. Their service spans five decades under Democratic and Republican presidents. Many were confirmed by Senator Collins herself. Their letter calls out her five votes to let Trump continue the war with Iran and her votes to confirm the officials carrying out his tariff agenda—decisions that are driving up costs for Maine families. I’m honored to have their support. Mainers deserve a senator who will stand up for them.

Social Security does not add to the deficit. So when republicans talk about cutting social security to reduce the deficit what they are really talking about is stealing from the American people’s retirement to pay war debts, oil company subsidies, and tax cuts for the rich. Don’t ever let them fucking steal what we pay for.

Wade, respectfully, the flaw in your premise: “Nobody invokes the Insurrection Act over people walking down the street with signs. It doesn't happen.” Trump and his allies are *openly* floating using the Insurrection Act to seize voting machines or ballots in order to upend an election they expect to lose. Nobody wants violence. It would be nice if conservatives could focus on the brewing constitutional crisis instead of pearl clutching over the leftist boogeyman of the week. Also, Republicans have been threatening civil war since we dared to elect a Black man. 🤷‍♂️
I've been going through the Democracy Files leaks @DataRepublican has been releasing, and whether or not any of this ultimately meets the legal bar for seditious conspiracy. The plan these organizers are discussing doesn't hold together unless you assume their "non-violence" language is masking their true intentions from public consumption. Their red line is the Insurrection Act as a potential triggering action, there may be others, but all of the potential triggering acts that have been hinted at are lawful actions. Nobody invokes the Insurrection Act over people walking down the street with signs. It doesn't happen. The Guard deployments in LA and Portland last year to counteract violent protestors weren't even the Insurrection Act. The only scenario where it actually gets invoked is one where there is sustained violence that local authorities can't or won't control. So if your entire plan is built around what happens after the Insurrection Act is invoked, you are building a plan around mass violence happening. You can say "non-violence" as many times as you want. The plan doesn't work without the violence. That's a wink and a nod tactic to cya legally. But understand the logic flow of what comes next. In the transcripts published by The Post Millennial and WECU, the talk is about governors becoming "the leading governing authority," about how to "wall off these illegitimate individuals," and about moving "into an extra-constitutional process." In other words, the federal response has been labeled illegitimate before anything has even happened. That's where this starts to matter legally. The seditious conspiracy statute covers conspiring to oppose by force the authority of the United States, or to prevent, hinder or delay by force the execution of any law. The Supreme Court said back in 1887 that if federal officers carrying out the law are forcibly opposed by people who conspired for that purpose, that is exactly what the statute was written for. If violence breaks out, and the federal government steps in to protect communities, and these same organizers then use ongoing violent protests to tell governors and the public that the federal government is no longer legitimate, that bleeds out of activism and into something far more serious. Advocating an idea isn't a crime necessarily and the courts have been clear about that. But there is a big difference between teaching an abstract idea and lining up the lawyers, the bail money and the governing plan for the day after. Maria Stephan, who co-leads the Horizons Project, the group that co-wrote the toolkit for these organizers, wrote in 2020 that calling the George Floyd protests violent riots "is simply untrue" and that the looting and vandalism were "a minute portion" of it, "largely committed by opportunists." Erica Chenoweth, whose 3.5% rule keeps coming up in these circles, co-wrote that claims the protests were overtaken by rioting "are false." Paul Zeitz wrote last year that troops had been "deployed against peaceful protestors" in LA. So they are obviously hiding behind legalese to cover their tracks while having a background of defining violent protests as non-violent. All of this tells you exactly how they'll describe the violence when it comes. “It isn't really violence, it's a tiny percentage, it's opportunists, and the real threat is the federal response.” They're being evasive and misleading, intentionally. The question now is what the full archive shows. If anyone on these calls is planning to physically resist federal law enforcement once it shows up, or keeps backing these movements after they've clearly turned violent, that's not politics anymore. And it’s worth repeating this last point. If the organizers of this say “peaceful protest” now, but advocate for advancing their plan to delegitimize the authority of the United States government after violent protests break out, they will be exposed to more obvious legal scrutiny.

Musk says Ukraine violated Starlink’s terms by using it for drone strikes. The accusation skips the access rules that govern a terminal in motion. February’s access rules: • Serhii Sternenko says terminals used while moving had to be registered on a separate list and connected to the military Starshield system. • Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov says commercial Starlink physically cannot support Ukraine’s deep- or mid-range drone strikes. So which service does Musk claim Ukraine misused? Calling every satellite link “Starlink” lets him blur the commercial product with Starshield, then accuse Ukraine of breaking rules that directed mobile use onto a separate system. That distinction matters when restrictions can affect Ukrainian operations. The practical lesson for Europe goes beyond Musk’s rhetoric. Critical battlefield communications need clear rules, accountable decisions and alternatives that can actually carry the load. Ukraine should not have to litigate a provider’s terminology while defending itself from Russian attacks.

2/ Russian forces have made effectively zero net gains in 2026 at the cost of over 40,000 casualties per month since July and around 458 casualties for every square kilometer of territory that Russian forces lost.

The US is willing to betray its closest allies in Europe, a market of 450 million people and an economy worth nearly $20 trillion, just to cut shady, corrupt deals with Putin's Russia, an economy roughly the size of Italy's. What an absolutely insane foreign policy.

This is totally dishonest. The White House didn’t work with Pope Leo XIV on securing this temporary ceasefire. Leo XIV was involved with this for months. Even while he was in the hospital recovering from lung cancer surgery, he called Putin and then Zelenskyy. The pope wasn’t a supporting actor. He was the protagonist.
Melania Trump tells me she spoke to both Zelensky and Putin about the Ukraine ceasefire: “We talked. We signed the agreement.” She thanked Pope Leo for his support and didn’t rule out a trip to Ukraine. POTUS said she’s doing better than his advisers.

NEW: An order of New York nuns founded in 1817 has rebuked the bishops who laid hands on President Trump 12 days before the midterms. “Images carry messages,” the Sisters of Charity wrote. “Silence carries messages, too.” The nuns have a powerful ally in Pope Leo XIV, who has put women at the center of his leadership. They now run three Vatican dicasteries, a larger share than in Trump’s cabinet. thelettersfromleo.com/p/new-…

Astonishing. I've been tracking Trump admin corruption and self-dealing for the last 20 months. Here are 10 stories (!!!) from just the last three weeks. Literally. Every single one from October.
JD Vance: "I've not seen a single shred of evidence that Donald Trump participates or sanctions in that corruption ... I've not once seen evidence that Donald Trump has enriched himself"
