When Villa meets Rwanda! β˜•οΈπŸ¦ A Lesson for East Africa. Love this moment - Aston Villa players testing authentic @RwandaisOpen Coffee. This is bigger than just coffee. This is strategy. This is nation branding done right. Through the Visit Rwanda partnership with Aston Villa, Rwanda is taking its products from the hills of Kigali straight to the Premier League and to millions of fans worldwide. Rwanda should be a case study for all East African countries for the trend being set , how to use sport, tourism and trade together to market your country, create value for your farmers, and build global pride. From the jersey to the cup, Rwanda is selling its story. It's time for East Africa to take note and follow this model. We have the coffee, the tea, the culture, the talent, we just need the vision. Congratulations Rwanda! πŸ‡·πŸ‡Ό @TourismBoardUg @wekesa_amos #AVFC #VisitRwanda #RwandanCoffee #EastAfrica #CaseStudy #AstonVilla #TradeNotAid
From Rwanda to Villa Park πŸ‡·πŸ‡Όβ˜•οΈ Our players sampled Rwandan coffee, now it’s your turn! Enjoy a FREE taste at the Sports Illustrated Warehouse Upper Plaza and Trinity Marquee from 9:30am tomorrow 🀝

Autumn in Glasgow πŸ‚β° The clocks went backwards by one hour last night in the UK . we all got that precious extra hour of sleep! Woke up this morning to the most beautiful autumn scene at the University of Glasgow. All the leaves are falling off the trees, carpeting the grounds in gold and red, with the stunning Main Building standing proudly in the background. There is nothing like autumn on Gilmorehill. The crisp air, the colours, the light. Glasgow at its best. Enjoy the extra hour and enjoy the season! πŸ’› #AutumnInGlasgow #UniversityOfGlasgow #ClockChange #BritishSummerTimeEnds #Glasgow #FallColours #UofG

Truly humbled to see @edwardk_19 , now a striker with @IndyEleven in the USL Championship, take a moment to recognise my part in his journey that started at the Uganda Youth Soccer Academy (@UYSA_Uganda ). I am so proud of the man Edward has become. From a young boy with a dream in Kampala, to being a 1st Round Major League Soccer SuperDraft pick. His journey has been built on pure hard work, discipline, resilience and faith. It is a powerful reminder that small sacrifices go a long way in transforming lives. Sometimes just believing in a young talent, or giving a chance to play, can change a destiny. Edward, thank you for remembering where you came from. You continue to inspire the next generation of Ugandan kids who look up to you. Keep scoring, keep working hard, and keep flying our flag high. I will always live by that principle of investing in people as my greatest motivation. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬βš½οΈ @AKasingye @DavidLumansi @DNyeko @CephasTendereza @HaroldAtukwatse @IsabiryeDavid @FifiPhionaPinky #IndyEleven #UYSA #UgandanFootball #GivingBack

I had the privilege of visiting Munich Business School and later visiting the world leading brand, BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke). The intersection of law, business, and world class branding is profound. At BMW Welt and the BMW Museum, you see it in practice ,a brand anchored on Sheer Driving Pleasure (Freude am Fahren), balancing heritage, innovation, and precision. Two key lessons learnt: 1. A brand is an ecosystem, not a logo. BMW's Neue Klasse platform, its ifactory flexible production in Munich/Dingolfing, and its shift to a direct to consumer agency model shows that a great brand controls its entire value chain. 2. Made in Germany is not a slogan, it's a strategy. Billions reinvested in domestic plants to protect quality and identity. It made me reflect deeply on our own football brands in Uganda, if they are building with that level of intentionality? Grateful for the exposure, and ready to bring these lessons with me to my legal practice and football club business/ management.

Bishop @RugyendoQuotes This is an embarrassment to Ugandan football. It makes zero commercial sense.A serious top flight league, entering a petty partnership worth Shs 200m on behalf of the 18 @UPL is laughable. This is not sponsorship but CSR. After 60 years of the league's existence, this is the best we can attract as an Official Banking Partner? If this is the commercial value of the @UPL, no wonder we have to run to Government for Shs 5.5bn to survive. We need to stop celebrating mediocrity with thank you notes and spiritual dimensions at Mapeera House. The UPL is a premium product or at least it should be. It should be negotiating billions, not millions. Centenary Bank is a multi-trillion bank. The UPL brand is bigger than Shs 200m. We are undervaluing our own league. Until we have serious, independent professionals negotiating serious commercial deals based on TV rights and data, we will remain a begging league. Ugandan football deserves better.
A THANK YOU NOTE TO CENTENARY BANK: On behalf of Uganda's top flight football league the Uganda Premier League, I sincerely thank you Centenary Bank (@CentenaryBank) and Gonza Pay (@GonzaPayUg) for trusting and voting the Star Times Uganda Premier League (@UPL) with your pockets. In my remarks before signing on the contract, I invoked the spiritual dimension to this. Speaking at Mapeera House, named after Father SimΓ©on Lourdel, who pioneered Catholicism in Buganda in 1879, I acknowldged Centenary Bank as the league’s Official Banking Partner for the 2026/27 season, making it the first indigenous bank to pioneer a partnership with the league in nearly six decades. The package includes Shs100 million in cash, Shs100 million in media promotion, Shs4 million for season awards and GonzaPay online ticketing. Coming after Government’s Shs5.5 billion boost, the deal signals rising corporate confidence in the league and promotes financial inclusion. I urge fans to buy tickets online via @GonzaPayUg , fill stadiums and bank with Centenary Bank. #GonzaMupiira #SizoniPamoja

On the sidelines of my legal practice study visit here in Munich, Germany, I took time off in my other capacity as a football club executive to visit the magnificent Allianz Arena, the home of FC Bayern Munich. It was an incredible opportunity to appreciate their world class setup, operations, and best practices behind one of the biggest clubs in the world. So many good lessons learnt on stadium management, commercial operations, and professional club structure. Football is more than just 90 minutes on the pitch, it's a whole ecosystem. And this was a masterclass. Munich has been inspiring! πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ⚽️

The current dialectic surrounding FUFA and its inclination toward naturalization of foreign talent has ignited a firestorm of skepticism among stakeholders and rightly so. While augmenting the Uganda Cranes with elite imports may offer a fleeting sense of optimism to a success starved fanbase, it ignores a more corrosive reality: the profound reputational and administrative deficit currently plaguing the beautiful game in Uganda. Was this scheme backed by research, evidence and data? For starters, the recruitment of former Burkina Faso international Aristide Bance as a scout raises many questions. How does he identify players with Ugandan descent from West African countries? What database? What genealogy? Or has Magogo just mastered the art of extorting money out of the Uganda Government using copy and paste strategies from other countries? Look at Cape Verde. They completed this successfully because most of its nationals migrated to Portugal and the routes were easily traceable. There was history, documentation, connection. That is why a player like Nathan Asiimwe from 3rd division in England was our best performer because of his traceable Ugandan roots, his identity, and his pride. You cannot manufacture patriotism with 1.5BN. We don't need imported rejects. We need to invest in our own, trace our real diaspora, and fix the administration first. Otherwise this is not a football strategy but rather a procurement strategy. #UgandaCranes #FUFA

This video circulating of a Ugandan being tortured to near death is disturbing. It should disturb any human being with a conscience. Yet ,@OfficialFUFA President Moses Magogo and the State Minister for Sports @OgwangOgwang are on camera gesturing and celebrating at a @CAF_Online qualifier in full support of the same regime that is violating international law against torture of its own citizens. @FIFAcom continues to massage the situation in Uganda against its own commitment to human rights in their bidding process for tournament hosting nations. FIFA's own statutes are binding to host nations to respect human rights. How can Uganda co-host AFCON 2027 when state torture is documented and even flagged in @USEmbassyUganda @StateDept travel advisories? This is why the @Educ_SportsUg @UgandaCranes can only attract mercenaries and rejects to play for Uganda. No reasonable Ugandan player born in the diaspora can risk their reputation, their safety, their dignity to associate with this dehumanisation. Who wants to wear a jersey that is being used to whitewash torture? Football is not separate from human rights. You cannot kick a ball while your fellow country men and women are being kicked to death. Shame upon @fifamedia @CAF_Media . @GarciaSilvero #HumanRights #FIFA #Uganda #AFCON2027

If I was in charge of football in this country, & I promised to improve the standards from playing β€œshitty” football to higher standards, & I am recruiting West Africans to play for the country after 13 years of my leadership, I would be tendering in my resignation.

With all due respect, let's not get too excited just yet. Yes, from Kisaasi FUFA Hotel to Marriott , thank you to @GovUganda through @NCSUganda1 for saving us the shame of accommodating the National Team in a slum hotel. Our players deserve dignity. But this raises bigger questions with less answers: What happens to the $2m @FIFAcom Forward funding to FUFA annually for national teams' accommodation and travel? Where does it go if these costs are covered by government? Government has also taken over funding of the sub standard FIFA funded projects like Kadiba which should have been done by FUFA. Yet no action has been taken against the corruption in the Ugandan FA. We celebrate the intervention, but we must ask why should Government pay twice? Once through @fifamedia funds to FUFA, and again through NCS to rescue the situation? We need accountability, not just upgrades. @OgwangOgwang @DNyeko @BalaamBarugahar #UgandaCranes
From Kisasi Hotel to the Marriott Hotel 🏨. Thank you to the government for making this happen, and special appreciation to every sports journalist and everyone who raised their voice on this matter. Our players deserve to be respected and treated fairly. This is the standard that professional footballers deserve. Thank you as well to FUFA for taking the criticism positively and responding constructively. The next issue that needs urgent attention is the timely payment of players’ bonuses and allowances. Professional athletes should not have to wait for what they have rightfully earned while representing the nation. Respecting players also means honoring commitments on time. Together, we can continue improving the welfare and dignity of our athletes. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬βš½ Let’s all flood Hoima on Tuesday.

In Uganda, access to justice is not just a legal concept , it is a daily struggle. Court fees, distance to courts, legal illiteracy, case backlog, and the cost of representation mean many people are locked out of the justice system they are supposed to trust. I am keen to dive deeper into the barriers to justice, the Rule of Law doctrine, and most importantly, what role lawyers can play. Is our role just to appear in court? Or is it to simplify the law, to advocate for legal representation for all, to defend human rights, to ensure the poorest person in the village has the same voice as the most powerful in the city? Excited to learn, to be challenged, and to bring those lessons back to contribute to reforms. The law must work for everyone, not just a few. #AccessToJustice #RuleOfLaw #UniversityOfGlasgow #LegalPractice

What a great evening in Glasgow! πŸ“šβš½οΈπŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ I had the honour of attending an Evening with Bobby Williamson at Waterstones, Argyle Street. The former Uganda Cranes manager and legendary Scottish Cup winning manager with Kilmarnock F.C. in '97 made a rare return to Glasgow to launch his new autobiography. From the tough streets of 60's Easterhouse to leading Killie to Scottish Cup glory, to the dream move to Rangers that ended in heartbreak after breaking his leg on tour, the pressures of playing under Jock Wallace, the turbulent spell at Hibernian, and his bold leap into African football to manage the Uganda Cranes and his powerful reflection on his cancer diagnosis that put everything into perspective. Bobby travelled all the way from Kenya to share incredible anecdotes from football history in conversation with award winning journalist John Greechan, and signed copies. I am humbled to have been mentioned in this book on Page 339, for my role in advising and dealing with his contract settlement after he was sacked by the Uganda FA. Indeed small acts of kindness truly go a long way in people's hearts. Thank you Bobby for the signed copy and for your service to Ugandan football. You will always be a Cranes legend in Uganda. #UgandaCranes #BobbyWilliamson #KilmarnockFC #UgandaFootball #Glasgow

New Chapter Unlocked! βš–οΈ Excited to share that I am continuing with another academic year at the University of Glasgow as I transition into legal practice in the UK and other common law jurisdictions. From football management and the first ever @FIFAcom Diploma in football club management to the law school, it's been a journey of growth, discipline and purpose. Football has taught me negotiation, governance and leadership. Now I want to use that experience to serve in sports law, business and human rights. Glasgow, let's get to work! #UniversityOfGlasgow #Law #SportsLaw #UKLaw

With all due respect, the point was not about watching local football. The point was about wearing a local football club jersey. What commercial value does Moses Magogo bring to a club watching a local game at Hamz Stadium when he doesn't pay for entry, doesn't pay for any local club jersey including @SCVillaJogoo that he claims to support? We see officials like him and their bootylickers in the VIP enjoying free football, but we never see them in a KCCA, Villa,EXpress, Vipers jersey. Not even once. But quick to attack @AKasingye for wearing Arsenal and never come back here to give him his flowers when he wears @SCVillaJogoo merchandise, buys a seasonal ticket etc.If you want us to promote local football, start by wearing it, buying it, paying for it. @OgwangOgwang always buys his @KCCAFC Jersey and season ticket even if he never gets time to watch games at lugogo because of his busy schedule. Leadership is more than being seen at games. @DavidLumansi @DNyeko @IsmaelKiyonga @MujibKasule @RugyendoQuotes @BenMisagga @CliveKyazze @atagenda
Eng. Hon. @MosesMagogo is leading by example when he spends his weekend watching local games at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo. I now figure why the good Hon. went up in arms against a great Arsenal Supporter @AKasingye for not promoting what he called local sport especially local football. Probably we need to see many top officials back to the stadium supporting local clubs and events.

100% agree. The Brighton model should be a case study. I had the privilege, together with my son, to visit Brighton & Hove Albion FC at the American Express Stadium on the invitation of my FIFA Diploma mentor, CEO and Vice Chairman Paul Barber. To experience the atmosphere first hand, to witness the project and to enjoy the first class matchday hospitality in the Directors' Lounge was incredible. What amazed me most was not just the scouting or data but the philosophy of not winning games at all costs. Sustainable growth, clear identity and the people first approach. High turnover of players and managers, but same identity, same culture, same blueprint. That is professional football management at its best.πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ
The Brighton model should be a case study across the football world, not just in England. High turnover of players and managers, but team plays to largely same philosophy and retains it's distinct identity no matter who is out there. And not just that amazing scouting department, but the wholesome blueprint need curious scrutiny and adoption! Signed yours truly, a not-so-secret admirer ... @AKasingye @mnamanya @TheLoveDre @UPL @senelvis @CliveKyazze @briantukaa

Here we go🫢
In July 2025 at the Euro Cranes Tournament in Helsinki, Finland, I spotted a special talent, Danish-born Ugandan forward Joseph Ssenyondwa, playing for the youth set up at AC Amager in Denmark. I advised his family to keep him connected to Uganda. Today, I am delighted to see Joseph named in the final Uganda U20 Hippos squad for the CECAFA U20 Championship starting today in Dar es Salaam. Congratulations Joseph! Go make us proud. Wishing you and the entire Uganda U20 team all the best. Let’s invest in proper scouting pathways, not shortcuts. @OgwangOgwang @DavidLumansi @DNyeko @NCSUganda1 #UgandaHippos #CECAFAU20 #Scouting
