Uber passenger: "Love your Tesla. But how often do you have to find a place to charge it?" Me: "I never have to find any place, I don't use public chargers. I charge out of my garage wall, just like you do your iPhone at home." Uber passenger: "Well how much does that increase your power bill?" Me: "I don't know, how much does your iPhone increase your power bill? Uber passenger: "Uhhhhhh, well, I don't know." Me: "Yeah, me neither. It's that negligible and unimportant." Uber passenger: "Ok, but what about battery fires? I know they catch fire all the time. How many batteries have you gone through?" Me: "12"

🚨✍️ Calling on the Tesla Board & Special Committee to pursue a merger with SpaceX. The shareholder letter is live. Read it and sign if you agree. Share it with friends & family. Thank you to @Amy787 for drafting this so well. surveymonkey.com/r/mergealre… We want the combined company focused on building, not bureaucracy.

Just went to dinner in a really cool part of Dallas that is all foot traffic and restaurants/bars everywhere. (Lower Greenville) People were getting in and out of @robotaxi everywhere. The best part was, the people using the service didn’t look like people who sit in Tesla spaces all day on X either! Just normal people who are choosing autonomy over traditional ride share. The word is out!

This right here shows the issue we are up against with any upcoming vote that requires Tesla shareholders to vote or they are counted as a No vote, since as M&A. And Vlad is a huge Elon fan, has owned multiple Teslas, has been a big investor for a long time, and always shuts down anyone who starts saying anything bad about Elon during an interview, although that doesn’t really happen much since he mostly interviews hip hop and rap artists, Elon is admired in this culture (this definitely isn’t the Economist or Vox 😂). Btw, both folks in this clip are Vlads, I’m speaking specifically about the DJ Vlad.

It's been over 12 years since my mother passed away from cancer. She was the best Mom in the world anyone could ever have. We never had much, but she focused every ounce of her being on making me never realize it. And I never once even question whether I was loved, she smothered me with that. Anyway, nothing special about today. It's not her birthday. This isn't the day she passed. A memory of her just came flooding into my mind, and I wanted to post about her. Maybe that's the true measure of a man or woman's life. When they think about you, do they stop everything else they are doing, and make a post about just how amazing you were and how much they love you.

If Texas has been using AI for their decision-making on play calls, then I’m officially bearish.

Friend: “What’s the AI trade been like this year?” Me: “Do you ever just leave the house for a few hours each month to avoid your wife or girlfriend? Then a few days later it’s all good and everything is back to normal?”

I estimate Cybercab will launch in Dallas around November 15, 2026 which is around the time they will hit 1 million autonomous miles in Dallas.

Mercedes-Benz has a $42 billion market capitalization today. If they had just held their Tesla stake, it would be worth more than the rest of the company!
Mercedes sold its Tesla stake for $780 million. that same 4 percent is worth about $56 billion today. in the clip below Musk explains how Mercedes ended up there. the US government gave Tesla almost $500 million, and he is asked directly whether that loan saved the company. he says no. what saved it was a $50 million check from Daimler in May 2009. all of Tesla was worth $550 million then. "they were the only ones. there was no other company, no other entity of any kind from which we could get investments." Tesla repaid the government's $500 million with interest and a prepayment penalty, ten years early. he sent a thank you note with it. "i don't like having a lot of debt. the taxpayers supported Tesla, we ought to repay them as soon as we can." Mercedes turned $50 million into $780 million and walked away in 2014. so was that a great investment - or the most expensive mistake in car industry history?

The world’s most accomplished tech founders and business leaders are betting hundreds of billions on AI with extraordinary conviction. Meanwhile much of the investing world thinks they’re making a massive mistake. The irony is hard to ignore. An investment industry where very few have historically managed to beat a passive index is now questioning the judgment of the people building the technology and running the businesses that will put it to work. Maybe the investors are right. Maybe the builders are. But I can’t remember a time when the stakes were this high and the two sides saw the future so differently.
