We are saddened by the passing of Jim Lovell, commander of Apollo 13 and a four-time spaceflight veteran. Lovell's life and work inspired millions. His courage under pressure helped forge our path to the Moon and beyond—a journey that continues today. go.nasa.gov/41tbrpq

I think the more practical question (for now) is if a senior dev would end up producing junior level code when using AI agents? (... having distractions and deadlines, etc...)

The old mathematical ones are the best. Maybe jokes are like mathematics. You either get them or you don't. But if you need a clue for Vishal's joke, this might help: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Residu…

The database can now directly track all of the SQL statements you ran in a session, and keep a plethora of metadata and execution statistics about them as well! youtu.be/V5m4OTELby4

Something happened in year 774 that was so powerful we can measure the radioactivity in old tree rings. Best guess is a solar flare, 10 times more powerful than the Carrington Event in 1859 that zapped telegraph wires. Worth considering the effect of the next one. Details: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/774%E2…

So you think you're getting a standard 1st year student lecture on geometry only to find the lecturer suddenly talking about eavesdropping & 19th century American politics. Call it a 'rounded' education. @AlainGoriely's lecture on Conics is now available: youtu.be/d2vgvd9VwwY

This is very cool - searching for warp drives using gravitational wave detectors. If the Enterprise is out there in the Milky Way we’re not too far away from being able to detect it :-)
Could we tell whether anyone in our galaxy uses a warp drive? This sounds like a crazy question, but it can be answered using numerical GR (one of the fun highlights of the annual theory meeting presented by Katy Clough) 🧵1/7

Btw, I once wrote a little script to find statements where Starts > 1 for the top plan line in v$sql_ plan_ monitor and it allows to easily monitor if a DB has such restarting DML statements... github.com/tanelpoder/tpt-or…
