Here is the link for the full interview with ZDF in Germany. English subtitles are available, but you don't need them for this clip. President Zelenskyy is asked when he last cooked something for his children. He's fighting back tears when he looks down. youtu.be/9FQBxJniWb4?si=-MwF…

Fellas, we’ve raised enough to buy the pickup and cover the repairs (~€300)! We only need €179 more to get it repainted, as it’s currently bright red, not the best colour for the frontline.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon, @JLMelenchon
In 2010, a poll found that 48% of residents of Savoie and Haute-Savoie favored joining Switzerland, compared with 39% opposed.
Since you believe populations should decide which country they belong to, would you support a referendum and cede these French territories to Switzerland if they voted to leave France?
Or does this principle apply only to Ukraine?
🇫🇷🇺🇦 French Presidential Candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon:
We will directly engage in resolving the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Because we French, who have been invaded four times by our neighbor, will never agree with the idea that anyone should invade anyone else to resolve a political problem.
We do not accept the idea of peace involving territorial concessions in Ukraine without asking the populations concerned whether they agree to be on one side of the border or the other.
It is up to the people themselves to decide what they want.

Congress should pass military aid for Ukraine and tough sanctions against Russia. Why? Because it is strategically and morally right. If the President vetoes, then it is on him in the history books. Congress needs to stand on the right side of history.
US midterm impact on Ukraine policy
Democrat wins in Congress still face major challenges in changing assistance to Ukraine in the face of Presidential opposition
Oversight in support of Ukraine is all the more important, and several friends of 🇺🇦 are retiring or losing ⬇️
I write this to note the need for other members of Congress to step up, keep current initiatives moving and maintain close oversight of the administration’s Ukraine policies
Briefly:
Jeanne Shaheen — Senate, D, retiring
Brian Fitzpatrick — House, R, trailing Michael McCaul — House, R, retiring
Thom Tillis — Senate, R, retiring
Susan Collins — Senate, R, race uncalled
Don Bacon — House, R, retiring
Details of support for Ukraine:
Jeanne Shaheen — ranking Democrat on Senate Foreign Relations

We all want peace, all of us, pretty much, never wanted the war in the first place, but Russia eliminated that decision for us, by invading 🤷♂️
What have they done to warrant now more people pushing this idea that Putin wants peace, I’ll tell ya

Ukraine could have WON the war 4 years ago.
In the Fall of 2022, Ukrainian forces liberated Kherson and a thousands of square kilometers of the Kharkiv region.
Thousands of russian prisoners were being captured and russian defenses were collapsing all along the line.
Then the supplies from the Biden administration mysteriously slowed down leaving Ukrainian forces without artillery.
Later, it emerged that the "as long as it takes" crowd feared a russian collapse and deliberately restrained Ukraine.
It's good that Trump's gang lost now but Ukraine has few real friends in either party.
A lot of death and suffering could have been spared...
The US is at best a friend of convenience, at worst an adversary.
I only trust regular Americans who genuinely support Ukraine, never their leaders.

You know what we would love to see? Senators Abdul El-Sayed and Annie Andrews absolutely GRILLING Health Secretary RFK Jr. during an official Senate Hearing.
Once they're sworn in in January, the real fun begins...
El-Sayed is an MD, has a doctorate in public health, and was an assistant professor of epidemiology at Columbia. Andrews was a pediatric hospitalist and a professor of pediatric medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.
RFK is an unqualified quack who has overseen the total collapse of public health in this country, perhaps most notably with the anti-vaxxer wave that he helped popularize and the subsequent measles outbreak he failed to contain.
Andrews has already vowed to "lead the charge to impeach and remove RFK Jr." and she has good reason to want him gone. Her home state of South Carolina was hit especially hard by measles, with nearly 1,000 documented cases that resulted from parents failing to vaccinate their children.
Imagine the finely-tuned, expert questions that these two would be able to hammer him with. At every turn, Kennedy's profound ignorance and negligence would be put on display. Picture him spluttering and growing redder as his humiliation mounts. It's exactly what this monster deserves.
Democrats, make it happen!
Please ❤️ and share if you'd LOVE to see this happen!

Why do the White House and the First Lady keep talking about reuniting children with their families in Russia and Ukraine as though the circumstances were the same?
To me, it’s another whitewash from the Trump administration. Russia invaded Ukraine, occupied our towns and cities and took our homes, mine included. Ukrainian children have been sent to Russian re-education camps and placed for adoption.
Ukraine has also documented more than 20,000 cases of children being deported or forcibly transferred. The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Putin over the alleged unlawful deportation and transfer of Ukrainian children from occupied territory.
So by all means, tell us which children still need to be reunited with their families in Russia, and how they came to be separated. Then tell us what the White House is doing to bring home the Ukrainian children Russia took and hold those responsible to account.
The First Lady’s stepson, Donald Trump Jr., might know who to call, Umar Kremlev, a Kremlin-linked businessman sanctioned by Ukraine, the man who hosted two nights of his wedding celebrations and later joined him on a hunting trip in Mongolia.
I’ll wait. 🇺🇦
⚡Why does the White House and @FLOTUS Melania Trump keeps referring to the return of both “Ukrainian and Russian children” when discussing efforts to bring back children deported by Russia when Ukraine holds no Russian children?
I asked Ukraine’s Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets whether Melania Trump is being misled — and whether this framing risks blurring the reality of Russia’s crime: the deportation of thousands of Ukrainian children.
@lubinetzs says Ukraine has never prevented Russian families from taking their children out of the country and questions why the White House uses the category “Ukrainian-Russian children.” However he credits Melania’s involvement with helping return several groups of Ukrainian children.

We fight for freedom and die for freedom. Words are important. Words from the United States – the biggest supporter of freedom – are important. Support is important. If the words against Putin and his aggression are strong, if a support package for Ukraine is strong, Putin will think twice, three times, ten times about whether he wants to attack or maybe this war has been enough for him.
I always tried to make this point to the American President, with all due gratitude to him and his team: Putin respects only a strong position. Even from the enemy, but a strong position. We cannot end this war saying good things about him. We see it – the war is in its fifth year now.
