Wendy's and Jersey Mike's have gotten worse — and @stavvybaby knows why:
"It's getting s***tier because some d***head who's never f***ing spread mayo in his life decided, 'Oh no, actually, instead of a sandwich, this is now a commodity.'"
Go, Matt, go—! 📼 📼 📼
Exciting news: This year I had the honor of writing a segment of the next installment in the V/H/S franchise with The RZA which he also directed! V/H/S/MIXTAPE is coming at you October 9th on @shudder and it’s premiering September 30th at the Egyptian as part of @beyondfest!

Rest in power, Michael Brooks.
Hard to believe, it is six years already.
His voice was pivotal for me, and his impact lives on.

There is endless footage of Pretti and Good’s killings and there’s been no justice. Body cameras are mass surveillance tools for Palantir facial scanning software, and ICE turns them off when convenient. There’s no shortcut — there must be abolition. theintercept.com/2026/07/16/…

It’s now been 1,000 days since the genocide in Gaza began. I’ll never forget the overwhelming feeling of dread and horror, knowing the hell Israel would unleash on October 8th. Their sadism surpassed my wildest expectations. Free Palestine, always and forever 💔🇵🇸

Hi @NYTimesPR, thanks for responding. Appreciate it. I'm a subscriber and I think some of your reporters do some great reporting.
Just to respond to your response to my post:
1) There were no facts "misstated" by me. You cited three examples in response. Only one of them was about specific *named* GOP House members (and it wasn't from "yesterday", it was from a year ago.) So I stand by my post.
2) As others have pointed out already, none of the 3 articles you cited have the names of any GOP individuals in the titles ("Right-Wing Republicans" "a Kansas Republican" "G.O.P. Fingerprints"), in comparison to your original "Who is Darializa" takedown piece. Where is your "Who is Brandon Gill" or "Who is Keith Self" or "Who Is Randy Fine" or "Who Is Mary Miller" critical profile pieces? How about "Who is Tom Emmer," given the GOP House Majority Whip just a few days ago spewed racist crap about Somalis? And where are the Peter Baker tweets summarizing *their* most controversial claims?
3) This isn't a new criticism. Many have made it against your paper for many years; that you go harder on the left than the right, that you even occasionally whitewash the far right. Remember when you had to do a public response in 2017 to a NYT profile that went super soft on a... Nazi? politico.com/story/2017/11/2…. Remember when you guys did a softball piece about a far-right, Islamophobic Trump aide's love for cooking? nytimes.com/2018/04/24/us/po….
Oh, and dare I ask: where are the fawning 'Trump voters' in diners' equivalent pieces for DSA members in NYC bodegas? Isn't it time?
4) Finally, that your response to my post was to proudly say you guys at the Times have "been documenting the increasingly extreme viewpoints on both sides of the political spectrum" kinda makes my point for me. One side's extreme wants universal healthcare and an end to genocide. The other side's extreme says Somalis are "garbage" and wants "remigration", mass deportations and white supremacy.
But, hey, "Both sides!"

Brother Jamie,
you should be so lucky to get people inside the Democratic Party who hate what it has become.
Corporate, zionist, republic-lite, neoliberalism isn't working for anyone, which is why Democratic Socialists are being elected all over the country.
Be grateful they're bringing voters to what Harry Belafonte referred to as the ravages of what's left of the Democratic Party.

I have never heard of a country invading a neighbor and then calling it unfair that their soldiers died in that invasion. I don’t think any other country ever even thought to make that complaint.
On top of that, Israel now wants to retaliate for its soldiers being killed while invading their neighbor.
This is pure madness. Just leave Lebanon.
We recently interviewed one of the guys on the Explosive Media Lego team and he said that, surprisingly, their attitude toward the American people has significantly *improved* throughout this conflict, as they have come to recognize that both they and we are subjects of the Epstein class, that Americans voted against war and are appalled by what we're doing. I think the same is true for Americans, and these videos have helped humanize Iranians, in a weird way (considering they are Lego characters and not humans in the videos)

This merger is bad for New Yorkers three times over. Thousands of jobs at risk here in the city. Streaming bills going up as competition disappears. And two of America’s most powerful media companies under one roof, deciding what you watch and what you hear.
Today, as Warner Bros. and Paramount shareholders vote, New York City is on record: this merger should be stopped.
Hollywood has organized around blocking the Paramount-Warner Brothers merger. @HaroldMeyerson writes that putting a film treasure up for sale was unwarranted and reveals the eclipse of enterprise capitalism by shareholder capitalism.

> Netflix raised prices
> Disney+ raised prices
> HBO Max raised prices
> Amazon just removed 4K from standard plan
> YouTube Premium now $15.99/month
> Family plan hit $26.99
> Average American spends ~$828/year on streaming
We are paying MORE, getting LESS, and watching ads anyway.
They didn't kill cable. They became it.

Sure, your eyes aren’t tricking you. That clip looks better than the new trailer, and the reason has nothing to do with talent. The VFX supervisor on Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014? Jerome Chen. The VFX supervisor on Brand New Day? Also Jerome Chen. Same person. Completely different system around him.
In 2014, Chen had 50 effects artists at Sony Imageworks, the largest VFX crew the studio had ever put on a single project. They handled about 1,000 of the film’s 1,600 VFX shots on a $255 million budget. The crew shot on real film (not digital), on location in actual New York City, scanned Times Square with 36,000 photographs of over 100 billboards, and built physical lighting rigs on set so the CGI would match the real world.
Now look at how Marvel makes Spider-Man movies. No Way Home had 2,500 VFX shots spread across 12 studios and about 3,000 artists. The budget was $200 million, $55 million less than TASM2 despite having 56% more VFX shots. Digital Domain, one of the VFX vendors, was delivering final shots days before the December 17, 2021, release. They kept reworking shots into mid-January, after the movie was already in theaters.
Zoom out, and the math gets worse. Marvel released 6 films between 2008 and 2012. From 2023 to 2025, they pushed out 7 films and 7 TV shows. The Hollywood union representing VFX workers reported that Marvel pays artists about 20% below industry average and staffs one person where other studios hire three. Artists described 64-hour weeks and breakdowns on the job. Then, in February 2025, Technicolor, the parent company of MPC (three-time Oscar winner for Life of Pi, The Jungle Book, and 1917), collapsed almost overnight. 4,500 jobs gone globally. The studio had been actively working on Disney and Paramount films when the lights went out.
Brand New Day has four months before release, and trailers routinely show unfinished shots. But the gap between a 2014 Spider-Man and a 2026 Spider-Man has nothing to do with technology going backwards. The industry has been asked to do three times the work for less money per shot while its biggest studios are going under.

It’s good of @kalpenn to try, but deeply naive for him to think Blinken was simply unaware of how unpopular and evil Israel’s genocide is. They don’t CARE. They are CHOOSING to protect the corporate/Epstein class over defeating Trump. And they’ll do it again.
.@kalpenn says he tried to use the relationships he built while working in the Obama White House to reach out to Antony Blinken about the #GazaGenocide
"It was just incredibly deeply disturbing that there was no room for a conversation about anything"
