Here's a fun interview with our director of Dogman. Peter was very fun to work with, tons of energy and humor. Also some great nuance in the intention behind a scene if when you ask him the right question :D

I had a lot of fun with this one — Mr Buttons meets Jerry — I wanted to take what I learnt from the last show I finished and try something #cartoony. Animated in Maya. #b3d for everything else. #3danimation #blender

Hello… back in July, I had the honour of being interviewed by @UKScreenSkills about how being part of their Animation Trainee Finder programme helped me to switch careers and start working in animation at @JellyfishPics
We're currently recruiting for the next round of #AnimationTraineeFinder! Want to know more about the programme? Find out about #characteranimator James Boyle's time on the programme, which helped him land a full-time animator role at his placement studio! bit.ly/3Phfajh
ALT “Changing careers later in life and retraining towards something you have always wanted to do requires personal sacrifice and renewed focus. The Trainee Finder opportunity came at the right time to allow me to continue on this new path... Starting a new career can be hard enough, whatever age and life stage you are at. Programmes like this help make that transition and first step much less daunting.” James Boyle Previous ScreenSkills Animation Trainee Finder trainee
It is never too late, and age is not as important as attitude and approach to the role.
I had two decades of previous careers (acting and film), retrained as an 3D animator during the pandemic at 40, then got my first animation job last year.
ALT I'm worried about my age and work history being a factor in getting a junior position in the games development. I'm a 27 year-old student who's been working retail whilst studying and I feel that I've passe the mark on getting a job working as a 3d artist as everyone on my course in younger than me and that my work expierance in only working low wage work will go against me.

A recent animation grad told me they turned down what would have been their first gig because "the movie seemed like it might not be great." 👀
I'll tell you what I told them
