I am a Conservative and that means I want to conserve the principles and values that our nation was originally founded upon.
Conservatism champions the individual.
Individualism and free thinking is powerful and must be protected but individualism can be a major negative because the individual can struggle to see the bigger picture - the end goal.
It also all too often attracts the need for the spotlight and the inability to unite for the goal. The desperate desire to stand out and be seen.
We saw this on the right these last two years. Podcasters throwing constant shade at the Trump Administration, members of Congress repeatedly screaming about a dead pedophile, and rabidly obsessing over a country the size of New Jersey.
It was relentless.
Democrats donāt do this.
They proudly stood next to an incompetent man in a suit who shook hands with the air.
Why?
Because they want control.
They know if they have control they have the power. They unite and forge ahead.
Now they control both the House and the Senate and most likely our next SCOTUS seat.
I hope people realize that spotlight fades.
But our principles donāt have to. That only happens if we decide the goal is still worth more than being seen or even being right.
Right now, too many on our side are choosing the latter.
The other side has already made their choice, and theyāre sauntering toward the finish line.

Today is Election Day.
Vote.
After you vote, give it to God.
Regardless of what happens today my hope will remain strong, because my hope isnāt in the outcome of elections.
My hope isnāt in government.
My hope isnāt in fallible people who happen to choose right.
My hope is in Jesus.
As Christians we are in this world but we are not of it.
We canāt control most of what we see.
Specific people in power wonāt save us, humans without God will repeatedly indulge in sin and are corruptible.
Thatās why Jesus and the power of what He did for us on the cross is the answer to every single problem we face.
It is finished.
God is already ahead of us in time.
He saw it.
He wrote it.
Itās done.
This ends well for those that have accepted what Jesus has done for us.
Itās a free gift and available to all.
Everything God said He will do in His word -He will do.
We are literally watching a lot of what He said unfold right now.
Specific countries aligning, apostasy, the hate for Israel, the advancement of technology setting up for a global system and more.
Itās all there.
God has to fulfill His word or He isnāt God.
The reassurance of that is what provides hope, peace, joy, and an increase of faith.
Live life, make plans, enjoy every moment, share the gospel, take dominion, VOTE, and occupy till He comes.
And let His Kingdom come. āļøš

āThe saints suffered. Therese had tuberculosis. Teresa of Avila had cancer of the stomach. Padre Pio had perpetual diarrhea and asthma. Bernadette had asthma too. Mother Cabrini had high fever to malaria she contracted during her travels. Holiness is not for wimps and the cross is not negotiable, sweetheart, itās a requirementā.

Itās heartbreaking to think about all the souls in purgatory who no one is praying for anymore. I want to make more of an intentional effort to help these poor souls and spread devotion. Will you do it also?
Here are 22 ways to offer then relief & aid them in their purgation:
Ask others to pray for those in purgatory.
Burn blessed candles for them.
Pray at gravesites.
Ask priests for a blessing for the souls in purgatory.
Send them your guardian angels.
Short prayers to God for them throughout the day.
Specific reparatory acts for them.
Ask God to send you sufferings for them.
Fast for them.
Implore the Saints for them.
Consecrate to Mary specifically for them.
Offer small daily sacrifices for them.
Pray Novenas for them.
Adore the Blessed Sacrament for them.
Pray the chaplet of St. Gertrude the Great.
Pray the chaplet of Divine Mercy for them.
Pray the Rosary for them.
Obtain indulgences for them.
Do acts of charity offered on their behalf.
Do the Stations of the Cross for them.
Have Masses offered for them.
Attend Masses and offer up your intentions for them.

Today, we give thanks to God for our retired priests who have dedicated their lives to serving Christ and His Church. I am especially grateful to this yearās honorees, Fr. Ulysses DāAquila and Fr. Larry Goode, for their many years of faithful priestly service.
May God bless our retired priests for the countless ways they have cared for His people.

āIf itās not explicitly written in the Bible, you shouldnāt believe it.ā
But where does the Bible explicitly say that?
In fact, Paul commands Christians to hold fast to apostolic traditions received BOTH orally and in writing.
2 Thessalonians 2:15:
āStand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.ā
John 21:25 even acknowledges that Jesus did many things that were never recorded in Scripture.
The biblical authors never teach that every doctrine must be explicitly spelled out in Scripture to be believed.
The early Christians received the faith through the teaching of the Apostles, both written and spoken.
The question isnāt whether a teaching appears as an exact sentence in the Bible. The question is whether it belongs to the deposit of faith Christ entrusted to His Church.
You cannot use Scripture to establish a rule that Scripture itself never establishes.
Catholics are required to attend Mass every Sunday and on specific holy days of obligation. In 2026, one of those days also falls on a Sunday, and itʼs happening this weekend. On Nov. 1, the solemnity of All Saints will replace the 31st Sunday of Ordinary Time.
On Saturday, Oct. 31, and on Sunday, Nov. 1, Evening Prayer 1 of the Liturgy of the Hours is for All Saints and the vigil Mass on Saturday will observe the Mass of All Saints.
Solemnities rank above feasts and memorials and are the highest liturgical celebrations in the Catholic Church. They honor significant mysteries of the Christian faith, including events in the lives of Jesus and Mary, as well as key saints.
The solemnity of All Saints celebrates all Christian saints ā those formally canonized by the Church and those who are not but have attained heaven. It is typically a holy day of obligation.
The observance of the solemnity begins with evening prayer (first vespers) the evening before on Oct. 31 ā known as All Hallowsā Eve or Halloween ā and is followed on Nov. 2 by All Souls' Day, a day in which the entire Church prays for all of the dead.
Sometimes a solemnity that falls on a Sunday will be moved to a Monday.
For example, in 2024, the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8 fell on a Sunday in Advent so the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) transferred the solemnity to the Monday.
The Vatican has clarified that Catholics in the United States must still attend Mass on holy days of obligation even when they are transferred to Mondays or Saturdays, correcting a long-standing practice in the U.S. Church.

We read all of 1 Peter in our menās group last night.
āNow who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is right? But even if you do suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts reverence Christ as Lordā¦For it is better to suffer for doing right, if that should be God's will, than for doing wrong.ā

During the first eight days of November, the Church offers the faithful a special opportunity to obtain plenary indulgences for the souls in Purgatory.
Here is how you can participate:
1. Perform one of the following indulgenced acts:
⢠November 1ā8: Devoutly visit a cemetery and pray, even silently, for the deceased.
⢠November 2 (All Soulsā Day): Visit a church or oratory and recite the Our Father and the Apostlesā Creed.
2. Fulfill the usual conditions:
š Receive Sacramental Confession.
š Receive Holy Communion.
š Pray for the intentions of the Holy Father (an Our Father and a Hail Mary are recommended).
š Have the intention of gaining the indulgence.
š Be completely detached from all sin, including venial sin.
A few important things to remember:
⢠One sacramental Confession can suffice for several plenary indulgences.
⢠Holy Communion and prayer for the Pope's intentions must be repeated for each plenary indulgence.
⢠Confession, Communion, and prayer may be completed several days before or after the indulgenced act. However, Communion and prayer for the Pope's intentions should take place on the same day as the prescribed act.
⢠If all the conditions are not fulfilled, the indulgence will be partial rather than plenary.
What is a plenary indulgence?
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 1471), an indulgence is the remission of temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven. A plenary indulgence removes all of this temporal punishment, while a partial indulgence removes part of it.
Indulgences can be applied to the living or to the faithful departed.
ā¤ļø This November, let us remember the Holy Souls in Purgatory and offer our prayers and sacrifices for them. Praying for the dead is a beautiful spiritual work of mercy.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Friends, most āspiritual but not religiousā people, though they may disdain the traditional churches, remain hungry for meaning, purpose, community, and ritualāfour values classically offered by religion.
They have found these in some odd places, and it would be easy enough to write off those frankly weird forms of religiosity. But this would be seeing the glass as half empty.
Rather, we should rejoice that the religious instinct remains vibrantly alive in themāand go out to meet it!

St. Francis de Sales notes that the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph were obedient even to a pagan Roman emperor, Caesar Augustus, who ordered a census in which they participated (Luke 2:1ā5). A fortiori, if even the Holy Family obediently subjected itself to the authority of a pagan emperor, all the more so should Catholic priests obey their lawful superior, the bishop, in all things except sin. substack.com/@patrickmadrid/ā¦
