Unfortunately Opus 5.5 can do in 1 day what 28 days of Unlimited Sol can't.

1) this is incredible. 2) If AI performs brain surgery on me, please please use Fable on Max and not Sonnet.
wtf this guy just had Claude Sonnet 5 perform brain surgery on a living mouse the goal was to treat the mouse's epilepsy so it would stop having so many seizures. here's what Claude did: > it looked at 19 possible treatments and picked one that boosts the brain's natural calming chemical > it chose where to inject it based on where these seizures are thought to start > it worked out the exact injection point by averaging three research papers > it lowered the needle 4.3 millimeters into the mouse's brain > it injected a 20,000th of a teaspoon of the treatment over five minutes > it checked the live camera 32 times to watch for things like bleeding and the mouse woke up and recovered well! interestingly, Opus 5.5 and Opus 5 both refused the task because it involved real biology so Sonnet 5 got the job. and as far as the researcher knows it's the first time an AI has picked a treatment and then injected it into the brain of a living mammal.

I haven't fundraised in about 6 years? What's changed at the pre-seed and seed level in terms of process (if anything).

Who gives a shit? This is like complaining that a movie has "CGI" or a magazine cover used "photoshop".
Nissan has responded to @the_autopian about claims that photos the Sentra Spec-V were AI-generated: "The Sentra Spec-V Concept is a physical vehicle that was photographed in a real-world garage setting. During post-production, Al-assisted editing tools were used to create and refine elements of the image backgrounds. In that process, unintended inaccuracies were introduced to some vehicle details in the published images. We're working with our creative partners to replace the affected assets with corrected imagery, and we appreciate the feedback that brought the issue to our attention. We regret any confusion the edited images may have caused. The Sentra Spec-V Concept itself is exactly that: a real, physical concept vehicle. We look forward to showing it in person when it makes its SEMA debut next week."

Everyone will get “custom software” like they get “custom websites”. It will be built by the small agency that builds their website. One up front fee and monthly maintenance retainer.
Starting to see “AI will eat software” predictions slowly coming true. My barber just moved his booking system off booksy after 5 years because a friend of his learned about Claude and vibe coded nearly the same thing for his website in a weakened. He told me it makes no sense to pay booksy anymore. I think this trend might accelerate starting from low margin and mom-and-pop businesses then spreading.

apple has introduced a new input modality on the mac without demonstrating a compelling new interaction model to pair with it at all or even any meaningful changes to the user interface for touch. that has never ever happened in the history of apple, & that has got to send shivers down the spine of anyone following the company. worse, there is no face id, there is no cellular connectivity, & there is no meaningful new design. what is happening?! i am completely lost.
We’re glowing with excitement over the new MacBook Pro. You’ve gotta touch it to believe it.

I don't get people like @edzitron and @TaylorLorenz whose entire job & personality is to nay say and rage bait people. Isn't that tiring and depressing? You can do anything in the world, yet you choose to be a professional wet blanket.
It’s such an interesting choice to look at Ed Zitron’s track record on AI predictions and then decide to broadcast his views to millions of people as an “expert”

Apple sucks.
$114K in revenue. Apple is deleting my account for "fraud". Over a tiny update I tried to ship 6+ months ago. 8+ rejections. 1 call with App Review. 1 full app rename. Still rejected. Now my app is off the store, and my whole account is next. Here's the full story: The update added one new library. That's it. Rejected: change keywords that had been there for over a year. mm okay. Rejected: change a subtitle in some random localization. if it helps.. Rejected: screenshots. Rejected: the same stuff, all over again. Rejected: rename the entire app. That one hurt. Most of my traffic comes from people searching that exact name. So I asked for a call. Surely we could clear this up live. The reviewer was genuinely great. He said the name was the last thing, everything else looked good. So I renamed the whole app, submitted, went to sleep. 3 days later. Woke up to a generic rejection. Subtitle, screenshots, the full combo. Again. So I asked myself: do I REALLY need this update? I didn't. I dropped it and moved on. Today, in that same old thread: "Pending Termination Notice. Evidence of Dishonest or Fraudulent Activity." My appeal is with the App Review Board. If it fails, this is what termination means: Every app I've built, gone. Every user, gone. And I can never open a new developer account. Ever. All over one library update I never shipped. How do we solve a miscommunication like this?

Most of the "revenue" here is just pass through ad spend. It's like an AI ads platform claiming all the money flowing through the platform is "revenue".
Ok, here’s something I can’t figure out: Polsia is at $25M run rate, which is an impressive achievement for any company, never mind a one-person company. I’d just love to see some examples of successful companies that are using it. Why aren’t there examples or case studies on the website? I tried the product again, and my first impression is that the experience below hasn’t changed much from earlier this year. Of the info it’s showing me here: 1. The task list and product roadmap feel irrelevant 2. The Twitter feed is for what? 3. Maybe the Meta Ads feature is incredible? I respect any founder who is out there trying to make it happen. I'd just love to some examples - which customers are letting Polsia run their business and making money? If anything, seeing some real examples will convince more business owners to try this.

This is the dream.
The two years I spent trying to invest in a Formula One team were defined by three key challenges, starting with market access. F1 is an extremely closed market; you cannot simply buy shares. Many teams are owned by car companies, making them very difficult to penetrate. Furthermore, many teams were not available. These are large, illiquid assets, meaning you must gain management's approval to invest. Finally, building a great investment syndicate was essential. Deep trust with partners is necessary, especially if you aren't seeking a control position.

I've thought about this a lot. This is going to be one of the largest YC companies of all time.
