Love to see more companies succeeding with new models! Especially for those of us who are design-challenged I never would have bothered to try a model from Canva if not for Design Arena!
Canva Craft, the first ever image model by @canva, takes the #4 spot on DesignArena's Image leaderboard. This makes Canva the #2 Image Lab after @OpenAI! Notably, it wins most often on photorealistic product and object shots, setting up studio-style lighting and detailed material textures on a single hero object. It also ranks #1 on the Portrait and Landscape subcategories. Congrats to the @canva team on the launch!

I’m so impressed by the whole @useblacksmith team. They’re truly building something people and agents want. CI is a tough, competitive space, and yet look at them go! I’m proud to be an OG and continuing investor in the company.
Replying to @sequoia
@sequoia is leading our Series C at a $1B valuation. We started Blacksmith in 2024 to make CI faster and less painful. In January we ran 5 million CI jobs a week. Today it's over 90 million and growing, and we’re still early.

You can’t lose with a deal like this :) Super impressive team!
Introducing overshoot, it will cut your GPU bill in half with zero quality loss, or you don’t pay. Over the past few months, we have forward deployed into AI teams to optimize their inference stacks. They have now cumulatively saved over $5M. Overshoot is software that bakes in our hard-earned inference learnings into a scalable solution. overshoot.ai

Introducing DeepRSI, a new industry standard for measuring recursive self-improvement. On preexisting benchmarks, tasks are contributor-based and short-horizon (~12 hrs). In DeepRSI, we push agents to work 48 hours on ML tasks actually derived from ongoing proprietary research.

It's not often I learn a lot about devops from a tweet thread. What a world class team
At Proximal, we believe that building our own research infrastructure is crucial to design the highest-quality training data Today, we are sharing more information about our internal post-training stack

So proud of this team and excited by how quickly they've been moving! In a crowded space, Flai has executed remarkably and is (at least as far as I'm concerned) going to be the clear winner. If you've looked into buying a car, you've probably talked to Flai and not even realized!
Today, I'm thrilled to announce Flai's $27M Series A, led by Base10, bringing our total funding to $33M This round also brings in some of the biggest names in automotive. With Toyota Ventures, Friedkin, and Findlay Automotive Group on board, we're now backed by the people who build, distribute, service, and sell cars. A year ago, we announced our seed round with one product: an AI that answers the phone for car dealerships. Today, Flai is the first AI-native CRM for automotive, built for both the sales floor and the service drive. Over the last year, @useflai has grown more than 20x, and we now work with over 20% of the top 50 dealer groups. Dealerships still run on software from another era. One of the industry's biggest vendors started before the car was even invented. Dealer teams are buried in disconnected tools, and their customers feel every gap. Flai changes that. On average, Flai generates ~$100K in additional monthly revenue for each dealership we work with. With this funding, we'll invest aggressively in product and engineering to build the system modern dealerships run on. I'm incredibly proud of our team and deeply grateful to our dealer partners for their trust in what we're building. The round was led by @Base10Partners, with participation from: @firstround @Toyota_Ventures @friedkingroup @ycombinator Findlay Automotive Group We're growing extremely fast and hiring across every team: engineering, product, marketing, sales, and customer success. If you want to help rebuild how cars are sold and serviced, check out our careers page or reach out to me directly!

How is @eglyman so good at marketing
we put on a broadway musical about accounts payable. slate called it "a glorified ad for a tech company." correct. it was also the most fun we've ever had as a company. the part i didn't expect was what happened after. a flood of messages from theater folks in new york saying it meant the world to them. billy porter told the crowd that industrials like this paid his rent for decades, until they disappeared in the early 2000s. for most of the last century, when a company had something to say, it hired composers, choreographers and actors. somewhere along the way we decided marketing should be cheap, measurable and forgettable. i hope more companies lose their minds a little. make something people feel.

I'm psyched for Proximal's public launch, for them to get the credit they deserve after all this time building in stealth. This is one of the most impressive teams I've ever had the privilege to get to know. I'm lucky enough to have known Calvin since his first company, where I was his YC partner. When I first met Justus and the rest of the team and they taught me in depth about RL environments, all I could think when I left was "holy shit." This is a true case where even though they're at $200M+ ARR, it's very much still early days. This is a world-class team, fit for a frontier lab, and I think we'll be seeing a lot more from them very soon.
Proximal builds infrastructure that enables AI to improve from real-world experience. In the past year, we have grown to more than $200M in annualized revenue helping frontier labs and enterprises improve coding agents. Now, we are expanding beyond software engineering. Recent progress in mathematics demonstrates what happens when models are trained in domains with massive amounts of public data and easy verifiability, making it easy to find weaknesses, generate training tasks, and iterate quickly. We build infrastructure that enables this feedback loop in other domains: we are excited about a world in which AI systems design targeted drugs, accelerate chip design, and rewrite legacy software that still runs hospitals, power grids, governments, and other critical infrastructure. Since starting, we have assembled a small team of researchers and engineers and built world-class infrastructure for post-training and synthetic data research to overcome the challenges of scaling manual data curation. Our team comes from Cursor, Google DeepMind, Meta Superintelligence, Prime Intellect, Citadel, and Jane Street. More than half are former founders. We’re fortunate to be backed by investors who share that vision, including @generalcatalyst who led our $15M Seed Round at a $300M valuation, as well as @chemistry, @svangel, @dvlamoen and individuals like @LiamFedus, @kevinweil, and @bernhardsson

So proud of this team! Latency and interrupt have always been the thing keeping AI calls from being truly great
Voice AI's biggest challenge is timing. Today we’re excited to introduce Tango, Simple's conversational awareness model. Tango is industry-leading on LiveKit's public end-of-turn benchmark, catching 96% of turn endings, responding in ~800ms, and barging in 5% of the time. For more: usesimple.ai/blog/tango-voic…

I have no idea but this feels like a debt-related shutdown to me. Many weird, last minute, confusing company closures have debt involved
This whole situation is very weird. We were customers of Pulley. It had: - A great functional product - Working GTM within their ICP (early-stage startups) - Better pricing than Carta with what I'd assume are healthy SaaS margins - $50M total raised from tier 1 VCs No one out there to buy their business? No acquihire? A cryptic message from the founder saying they "have no intention of riding off quietly into the night"? What really happened?

Anyone in the data space who has known me for any length of time has spoken to me at some point about my conviction since the day I angel invested in DBT Labs' first round that eventually, one day, possibly in a land far away, dbt would build charts, and when they did, it would be great. I am SO HAPPY that day is finally here. Congrats @dbt_labs, @jthandy, and team! It's time. I finally can build an entire BI tool totally from scratch, off of all my existing dbt and data definitions, and have everything work together perfectly. There is no need to pay for separate clunky visualization tools anymore. dbtcharts.com/blog/charts-bu…
