Finished field season at Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant. Demo of source clean-up using bugs and trees for 1,4-dioxane, TCE, etc. Works great! Removed 1,4-D from 100 ug/L to 1 ug/L; TCE from 20 ug/L to 0.2 ug/L. Best of all: trees transpired all the water. ZERO DISCHARGE!

It's lost on most people that we are now affecting the entire open ocean with climate change. Warmer seas, more ice melting, powerful storms, and coral reef bleaching. #ActOnClimate pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…

High temperature in Iowa City on February 26, 2024, was 72 degrees F. Previous record high temp for this day was 63 degrees F set in 1896. We are not just breaking records, we are shattering them. #ClimateCrisis

The climate is warming -- we are probably already above the Paris agreement goal of 1.5 C. But my granddaughters can still enjoy the snow, right? #ClimateEmergency

Here is a pic of our ESTCP pilot project at former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) to clean-up 1,4-dioxane and chlorinated solvents from groundwater. It's working! We use trees and soil bacterium R. ruber 219 to degrade all the contaminants. #cleanwater
