My personal opinion, until you have done a tonne of internal work within your own sporting organisation, providing adequate education, policies & support to all employees, you shouldn’t be activating externally, that goes for Mental Health, DV, First Nations, Disability.
A significant collaboration between Awabakal Health Service and the Northern Hawks Rugby League Club. 1st, Mental Health First Aid Training to all Awabakal staff. Then yesterday 44 community members! The mental health literacy in this community is on the rise! Sport is leading!

This makes me really sad! Darryl had a very low tolerance for bullshit, and always put the best interests of the game first. I valued his encouragement whenever I had to make hard decisions, a huge loss for rugby league.

As followers of this account we know the videos and phonetics are good starts but the key to real change is to have sports media professionals learn the basics of the languages that they are likely to need. If covering rugby league please just learn the vowel sounds as step 1!
