The performance was a disgrace. Ridiculous team selection, tactics, substitutions, set-pieces and physical intensity. Even getting one of those elements spot-on and you beat this Spurs side.

Xabi Alonso's football is apathy inducing. It's so nondescript. It's like what you'd see if a team had no coach. And this is with full weeks of training.

Quenda over Estevao is a big call.

Part of it for sure but doesn’t explain the awful subs.

Xabi Alonso: "I would say we have dropped our consistency and competitive mentality needed in the second half."

Long way to go but not a great start. Seems risk averse and looks like he’s blitzing them in training too with all these injuries. Needs to learn quickly.

There will be games for both but I cannot stress how negative Neto is in games like that. Baffling he stayed on as long as he did.

Alonso's love for Neto, and conversely his neglect of Estevao will be his downfall.

Quenda over Estevao was taking the piss quite frankly.

Looking forward to Pedro Neto and Fofana starting the next game.

Got what we deserved. Cowardly line up. As bad as anything Maresca put out. Plenty to think about.

Estevao inside 5 minutes won as many 50/50 duels (2/2) as Pedro Neto managed (2/7) inside 86 minutes today for Chelsea agonist Hull City. It’s not about age, it’s about if you got it. #CFC

No way is he more athletic than Chilwell was at his peak. Could chip a straight ball in behind to Chilwell and he’d find a way of out muscling or out pacing the defender.

He's effectively Ben Chilwell with better athleticism and worse footballing IQ, you can make of it what you'd like.

Exactly the sort we could do with in midfield.

Frustrating that James did not pick up Odegaard’s run but then covered everything immaculately thereafter.

If we can sort the midfield we can challenge. The way Rice covers and chucks in a few cynical fouls is the process is what we’re missing alongside Caicedo.

Thought the subs made a difference. We didn’t have that energy to bring on last season. Arsenal so good at sitting back and absorbing pressure though, and Raya is a great keeper. Want to see more of Estevao. Neto doesn’t bring enough against a quality defence.

All the crying for nothing then. Up the Chels.
