Sharing Thoughts on the Important things in life: Sports, Superheroes, and Star Wars // Overreacting to every Celtics loss

The worst-case scenario for the Celtics. Owners who aren't in the ring business but are in the profit business. The NBA should be ashamed of itself for approving this ownership group. Wyc should be ashamed for selling to this group. Boston & Celtics fans deserve so much better.
Sounds like an ownership group that does not want to spend the money required to put together a guaranteed championship contender. Actions speak louder than words. The Celtics are prioritizing profits over winning championships. Private equity is changing the Celtics.

#SaveMassEffect - A Message from the founder. First, I want to say thank you. When I started this petition and created #SaveMassEffect, I had no idea how quickly the community would come together. What began as one fan refusing to quietly accept the loss of something that meant so much to so many has grown into a movement supported by tens of thousands of people around the world. And we’re only getting started. Mass Effect has never been just another video game franchise. For many of us, it represents years of unforgettable stories, characters, friendships, and choices. It’s a universe that inspired us, brought us together, and reminded us that even against impossible odds, our actions matter. That’s why this campaign exists. Our goal is simple: Give Mass Effect a future. We’re asking Electronic Arts to seriously consider two paths forward: 1. Commit to continuing Mass Effect’s development, with the resources, talent, and time necessary to deliver the experience this franchise deserves. 2. Explore licensing Mass Effect to a qualified development studio capable of carrying the franchise forward if EA no longer intends to develop it. We’re not demanding rushed development, unrealistic promises, or an immediate announcement of a new game. We’re asking EA to recognize that this franchise still matters and that its community deserves to be heard. I also want to make something very clear: This campaign is not against the developers, artists, writers, or employees of EA and BioWare. These are the people who helped create the universe we love. They deserve our respect and support. Our campaign will remain respectful, organized, and focused on constructive solutions. Where We Go From Here As the founder of #SaveMassEffect, I’m working to turn the incredible support we’ve received into an organized effort. Over the coming days, I’ll be focusing on expanding our outreach, connecting with gaming journalists and community creators, bringing volunteers into the campaign, and establishing a professional line of communication with EA. With N7 Day approaching on November 7, we have an opportunity to show just how much this universe still means to people around the world. Our next milestone is 100,000 signatures. But signatures alone aren’t the ultimate goal. Our goal is meaningful dialogue and a genuine opportunity to secure Mass Effect’s future. How You Can Help - Keep sharing the petition and using #SaveMassEffect. - Encourage fellow fans to participate respectfully. - Share what Mass Effect means to you and why you want to see its story continue. - Help spread the campaign beyond our existing communities. I’m currently organizing this effort independently, and I know I can’t do everything alone. As we grow, I’ll be looking for dedicated community members who want to help build something lasting. Finally, I want everyone supporting this campaign to remember something: We cannot guarantee that EA will change its plans. But we can make sure the community’s voice is impossible to overlook. Every signature represents someone who believes this universe is worth preserving. You have already shown me that I am far from alone in that belief. Thank you for standing with me. Thank you for standing with the developers who gave us this incredible universe. And thank you for refusing to let Mass Effect’s future go unquestioned. Our choices matter. Our voices matter. #SaveMassEffect — Joe Smith, #SaveMassEffect

Worst owner in sports strikes again!
MSG employees thought they were getting a Knicks championship ring. They got cybersecurity training instead 🤨 A dummy email from the Knicks with two ring options was sent to employees, but clicking on a selection resulted in receiving a mandatory course on how to avoid phishing scams, per @TheAthletic.

This sucks. Mass Effect hopefully can find a home somewhere else. It’s one of the great video game series and stories ever. KOTOR has long deserved an update and more releases. Big loss for all gamers

I’m all for legalized gambling but this is gross. No one should bet on this or have the ability to bet on it. It’s just not something any civilized person or society should condone
Polymarket is taking bets on whether the seven Cornell students accused of raping a student will receive a felony sex crime charge. Among the athletes endorsing Polymarket: LeBron James, Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, Sue Bird, Reggie Bush and Richard Sherman.

Hiring Francis Lawrence is both a total no-brainer and a hilarious creative trap. Book one of Red Rising is essentially The Hunger Games in space; a brutal battle royale at the Institute designed to weed out the weak. He can shoot that in his sleep. The real test is if Paramount has the stomach for what comes next: a crazy, R-rated Roman space opera filled with decapitations, nuclear orbital drops, and toxic sociopaths. If they sanitize Darrow into Katniss with a scythe, the Howlers will riot

It's too good not to be adapted, but especially with the later books, it's definitely NOT YA so I really hope they don't tone it down. It would almost assuredly work better as a show, but so would a lot of things. Excited to see it and really hope they don't ruin it.

To steal from one of my readers. Zelda and GTA are not ‘the barbenheimer of games’. They’re the Ocarina of Crime.

That’s my GOAT. Refused to let one loss define him. The 32 BBY Boonta Eve Classic was a fluke and everybody knows it. That other kid took his ball and went home and refused to defend the title like a real racer.
One of my favorite details in Galactic Racer is this bit where Sebulba claims that the other human that beat him in a podrace "disappeared and made nothing of his life." Sebulba's entire life was focused on racing, so it absolutely makes sense that he never cared enough that the 9 Year Old that beat him on Tatooine eventually became one of the most infamous people in the galaxy.

If I were in charge of Lucasfilm, I’d do this: -Court Denis Villeneuve or Alfonso Cuarón to direct a Knights of the Old Republic trilogy. -Make Steven Soderbergh’s Ben Solo film. -Make James Mangold’s Jedi origin film. -Make a New Jedi Order trilogy with Rey training the next generation. I’d go with someone like Greta Gerwig, Chloé Zhao, or Gina Prince-Bythewood to direct it. And I definitely wouldn’t let Simon Kinberg write it. -Greenlight a horror Star Wars movie and let someone like Mike Flanagan direct and write it. As for the TV side, I’d let Damon Lindelof and Beau Willimon each develop a show. Just let talented showrunners make Star Wars shows and stop trying to make them feel like movies. Let them be actual TV shows set in the Star Wars universe.

He’s right of course. Player pay and coaching pay ARE totally different markets. That’s why in every pro sports league, the best players are paid significantly more than the best coaches. They’re way more valuable.
This morning on ESPN's First Take, Nick Saban argued player and coach pay are "totally different markets." "That's like asking me 'Does a student's scholarship equal the professor's pay?' I mean, how much value does a coach create for a university?" 📺 💰️
