OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says it’s “quite terrible” that people have so much DRAM sitting in their own PCs instead of being used in data centers. “Everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer. And be used 5% of the time,” He argues that cloud data centers should make better use of limited memory supplies instead of people running AI models locally.

"Put Alan Wake 2 on Steam if you're really that pro-consumer"
Former Valve dev Chet Faliszek has fired back at Epic CEO Tim Sweeney over his latest attacks on Steam. Sweeney claims Valve is holding PC gaming back and criticizes Steam’s AI disclosure rules. Faliszek argues that these disclosures help players make informed decisions: “You’re just treating players like they’re stupid.” He also points out that Epic’s own Fab marketplace uses AI disclosures. And his response to Sweeney? Put Alan Wake 2 on Steam if you’re really that pro-consumer.

"you could vibe code an alternative in a week" Says CEO of company that has been unable to make a good alternative after years of trying, and vibe coded an even worse alternative. "Valve has held gaming back" Says CEO of company that brough exclusivity contracts to pc.
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney says Valve "has held gaming back for years." Sweeney was replying to Kiaran Ritchie, a former principal animation programmer at Epic, who criticized Steam's 30% cut and said "You could vibe code a Steam alternative in a week." Sweeney wrote that Valve locks developers' PC games into "Steamworks' social walled garden where players can't talk to other players on iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or even other PC stores." A community note was added saying many games use Steamworks only for authentication to allow crossplay and handle the rest themselves. Sweeney called the note "fake," saying Steam Datagram Relay "isn't related to the things I cited: social, and players talking to each other across platforms." Source: @pcgamer

For all those who are confused why there are “devs” coming out of the woodwork running defence for Tim Sweeney, and trying to throw shade at Steam too. They’ll tell you that its about the “30%”, or the “monopoly”, is that so? I noticed however there’s a common link between all these accounts. Most of them are actually mainly upset at the Ai disclosures and labels Steam have. They consider the act of transparency as some kind of atrocity committed by Evil Gaben. See pic 1. Many of them on their bio and posts shill Ai vibe coding, A LOT. Also, they are super hyped for Unreal Engine 6, which is Ai obsession given game engine form.

Literally every time
Imagine remaining with about 50% after paying steam and taxes. You do the whole work, risk it all, work 14-16 hours for months to only get 50% minus development collabs (maybe 5-15%). This is ridiculous… Hate Tim as much as you want, but he’s definitely making a point!

Shocker
Disagree with Sweeney all you want, but here’s my reality: Steam takes 30%, then US withholding takes 30% of my remaining share on US sales. I’m left with 49% before covering development costs. I fund the game and take the risk, yet more than half is already gone. Feels like getting robbed, tbh.

Such a cool all-digital ecosystem, this is definitely so much better than just putting discs in a console
A new PSN security issue lets attackers bypass passwords and two-factor authentication. Players have reported unknown family members being added to their PlayStation Network accounts without permission The biggest problem is that these added family members could potentially be used to access personal information, including saved payment details. One affected user contacted PlayStation Support directly, and apparently even support doesn’t have a clear answer yet on what’s actually causing it. For now, the advice is to: • Reset your PSN password • Change the email used for your PSN sign-in ID • Check your Family Management for accounts you don’t recognize • Contact PlayStation Support if anything looks suspicious Sony still hasn’t publicly confirmed what’s behind the issue.

I know it's GTA and the reviews don't actually matter here but making the embargo date the day before launch seems... odd?
Rockstar Games have begun to distribute review code of Grand Theft Auto 6 to media outlets. Review embargo is November 18th.

I agree with Tim Sweeney, AI games is the FUTURE. I will back this statement up by REFUSING TO RELEASE my AI games to Steam, Epic exclusive only. All vibe coders must do the same. Let's push our 1000 vibe slop to Epic. We'll show what Steam is REALLY missing out on
Tim Sweeney is criticizing Valve again over Steam’s requirement for developers to disclose their use of generative AI. The Epic Games CEO called the policy “abhorrent,” arguing that developers are being forced to make a “political statement” that could be used against them by a “hate mob.” Sweeney has been criticizing the policy since 2025, previously comparing the disclosure to a “Scarlet Letter” and arguing that AI will eventually be part of almost every game production process.
