Always great to join Patrice for this segment. Predicting a big week for the AFC North with a win-win on the Steelers-Saints game: I win this week’s picks or the Steelers lose!
My predictions are in. 🏈 One thing’s never up for debate: I’m always riding with the @Ravens! #RavensFlock @FOXBaltimore

Expanding job pathways is critical for Marylanders. I was proud to work with @Sen_Alsobrooks and @ChrisVanHollen to secure $850K in federal funding for @CarrollCC’s new Ratcliffe Applied Technology and Trades Center. This investment will train students for in-demand jobs and help local businesses find the skilled workers they need to grow.

Congress should do its job. But when gridlock and special interests keep broadly supported ideas from becoming law, the American people deserve another way forward. My Direct Democracy Amendment would give voters the power to propose new laws or repeal existing ones. @politico

Democracy works best when people have a meaningful voice in their government. At a time when partisanship and special-interest influence slow progress, my Direct Democracy Amendment would give American voters the power to pass or repeal federal laws when Congress fails to act on issues with broad public support.

If Congress refuses to meet basic needs of Americans or enact proposals with 70, 80, 90 percent support, we should give voters a chance to force action. Read above my proposal to do just that via direct democracy: politico.com/live-updates/20…

Here’s your friendly reminder that I’m leading a constitutional amendment with @RepDonBacon as a co-sponsor that would help end this type of nonsense and corruption. The House should bring it to the floor for a vote immediately.
BREAKING: A billionaire wanted a Trump pardon. His family gave Alina Habba a $50 million deal. Julio Herrera Velutini's daughter hired Habba -- then a senior adviser to Pam Bondi at the Justice Department -- at $10 million a year for four years plus bonuses. He got his pardon not long after. Rather than lowering costs for you, Trump is busy cozying up on dictators. But there’s good news: Americans get their say in just a few weeks.
If the president wants to lower costs, he should end the war with Iran. Instead, he’s making deals with Putin while Russia continues its war against Ukraine. @NewsNation

President Trump is choosing a dictator over democracy.
Question: What would suspending Intel sharing or weapons purchases mean for Ukraine's defense? @RepJohnnyO: “Those suspensions would cripple the ability for Ukrainians to defend themselves. And I have to say…this is an administration that seems to consistently choose Russia over Ukraine.”

President Trump would be wise to remember the golden rule here: treat others as you wish to be treated.
Over the weekend, President Trump gave out GOP Sen. Tom Cotton's cell phone number, blaming him for holding up a bill to make Daylight Saving Time permanent. He urged people to call Cotton, who remains opposed to the bill. Trump is pushing for senators to pass the Sunshine Protection Act, which the House passed in July. "I actually agree with the president on the policy here," Rep. Johnny Olszewski (D-Maryland), who voted for the bill in the House, told me. "But I can't imagine a scenario where the president would be okay with people handing out his own cell phone number for people to have a public pressure campaign."

So a full banning of stock trading by government officials should be an easy first act in the new Congress, right? punchbowl.news/article/campa…

Happy World Teachers' Day! As a former public school teacher, I know firsthand how demanding this profession is. That's why I introduced the REFRESH Act with @RepShontelBrown to address educator burnout, mental health, and retention. True teacher appreciation requires action.
