Expanding job pathways is critical for Marylanders.
I was proud to work with @Sen_Alsobrooks and @ChrisVanHollen to secure $850K in federal funding for @CarrollCC’s new Ratcliffe Applied Technology and Trades Center. This investment will train students for in-demand jobs and help local businesses find the skilled workers they need to grow.

Congress should do its job. But when gridlock and special interests keep broadly supported ideas from becoming law, the American people deserve another way forward.
My Direct Democracy Amendment would give voters the power to propose new laws or repeal existing ones.

Democracy works best when people have a meaningful voice in their government.
At a time when partisanship and special-interest influence slow progress, my Direct Democracy Amendment would give American voters the power to pass or repeal federal laws when Congress fails to act on issues with broad public support.

Happy World Teachers' Day! As a former public school teacher, I know firsthand how demanding this profession is. That's why I introduced the REFRESH Act with @RepShontelBrown to address educator burnout, mental health, and retention. True teacher appreciation requires action.

Two simple ways to lower costs:
❌ End the war with Iran.
❌ Repeal the tariffs.
Americans are paying thousands more under Trump.

All the Orioles have to do is win tonight and then sweep the Yankees this weekend and have the White Sox lose their final five games and have the Rangers lose at least three of their final five games and suddenly BIG BANG BONG the Orioles are playoff-bound, baby!

This is unconscionable.
The president has already been abusing the pardon power—now he’s trying to dodge accountability.
The records must be restored, and we must pass my Pardon Integrity Act to rein in this abuse once and for all.
All Trump pardons have been scrubbed from the @TheJusticeDept website:

A toaster is a wedding gift. A private-island party paid for by a Putin-connected oligarch is something else. Republicans nearly wore out the subpoena machine investigating Hunter Biden’s foreign relationships. We should not unplug it now. ‘Trust us’ was not enough then, and it is not enough now.

A free press is fundamental to our democracy.
President Trump's attack on news organizations he doesn't like is unconstitutional—and it's the kind of thing we see in dictatorships.

Trump running on lower gas prices and no more foreign wars and then starting a war with Iran that literallly everyone except Pete Hegseth knew was going to be a quagmire has to be on the shortlist for dumbest political blunders in American history.

Small-business owners deserve clear, consistent rules to hire, grow, and invest in their communities. That's why I was proud to join @Franchising411's panel on the bipartisan American Franchise Act—and honored to be named Legislator of the Year!

“I haven’t seen that.”
The standard Mike Johnson line fell out of Marco Rubio’s mouth last month when a congressman asked if it’s okay Trump and his sons enriched themselves by billions while in office — even after being asked directly about the timing of Trump’s own stock purchases, made right before government actions that would benefit them.
Rep. Johnny Olszewski wasn’t buying it. Rubio’s been in the room. He’s seen it.
Johnson says some version of this multiple times a week — CNN even ran a supercut of him saying “I don’t know anything about that” on loop. Now it’s Rubio’s turn to use it.
It’s not ignorance. It’s a script.
Olszewski, meanwhile, has already introduced legislation requiring presidents to use blind trusts and barring them from trading individual stocks.
Because right now, the cowards in charge aren’t stopping any of it.

Trump has turned the presidency into a grift: pocketing billions through crypto deals, stock trades, and pardons-for-cash, all while Americans struggle to afford groceries and rent.
That's why I've introduced reforms to stop any president from using the White House for profits.

OLSZEWSKI on the latest ICE killings in Maine and Texas — "It’s unconscionable that this is the world we’re living in today. And the fact that we are spending so much money funding these agencies, these lawless agencies, and we can’t get our Republican colleagues to even put in some common-sense reforms like body cameras so we know what the hell is going on. We’re going to keep fighting for accountability for the people who’ve lost their lives needlessly, here and elsewhere."
