Gropius and his peers were exploring the boundaries of possibility in the post war, post-guild industrialized era. They didn’t have the same concerns we do, but they would certainly applaud our own exploration of new materials like hempcrete, mass timber and CLT.

This is astonishingly good material. Solidly researched, succinct, articulate and pitched perfectly for the medium. Genuinely impressive. Thank you for making our world smarter, both intellectually and sartorially!

True. So notwithstanding @SolarInMASS' clarification that this particular effort is not defection per se, we are going to see localized collaborations that are specifically focused on local autonomy. The phenomenon you allude to is the decreasing marginal cost of defection.

Those farmers are essentially defecting from the grid. Once grid defection becomes common, we enter the utility death spiral. For each of those farmers that no longer subsidize the fixed costs of the grid, existing subscribers will have those costs passed on to them.

The IEA solar forecasts have become a running joke. My favorite graph of all time is the one showing the IEA projections vs actuals. As far as I can tell, if IEA says something is going to decline, I'm going to assume it's going to be up 10x.

@BeeLineBus riding the 45 for the first time I am delighted by the huge windows that aren’t covered in advertising. I’m on a sightseeing tour of my town!

It's not exactly the same. Utility providers have to participate in activities like grid inertia forming, voltage regulation and compliance with operational directives like curtailment. Small households provide lower quality energy for this reason. See #transitionshow ep174

Right? That smell in your hair and your clothes after a ride? Nothing like it.

It is only a shame that the constraints of the business of film limit the possibilities of narrative exposition. The story's nuance and texture warrant (deserve!) lengthier development -- if only Denis had more time!

@mcmansionhell For reasons that are not important right now, I found this gem. If the exterior isn't enough to keep you awake for a week straight, wait until you get to the interiors. On the expensive side for a McMansion, but ... omg realtor.com/realestateandhom… #architecture

@TestKitchen can we start to ease into induction cooking please? Perhaps start with a single plug-in hob to show speedy water boil or super-precise simmer? The #EnergyTransition is here - you’re the thought leaders and you can show how it’s going to make #cooking better.

Appeal is not automatic in civil proceedings. Defense must show grounds for appeal. A common appeal complaint is excessive damages, but seems unlikely that something in the $250Million to $500Million range can be considered excessive considering the illicit profits in this case.

That’s the bridge the gets you to where you were meant to go, not where you thought you were going. They’re expensive to build tho, what with ripping up the space-time continuum and all.

Too bad though Nat. You belong in the Bollard family - you’ve got class and style. Just ask @WorldBollard

WTF. "Search -> Taylor Swift" -> "Something went wrong. Retry". "Search -> T..a..y..l.. ... ... " nothing, no autosuggest. Seriously, what are you afraid of dude? That's some weak sauce. All you're doing it making her stronger.

Sureties ("bonding companies") accept real estate as collateral, but (a) don't do 100% LTV and (b) write down the value of the asset accounting for market risk. It's possible he can use MAL or TT, but that makes them unavailable for use in the upcoming Engoron judgments.
