The first duty of every Labour Government is to support the most vulnerable. Our welfare system is meant to be a safety net - there for all of us when we need it. I'll fight tooth and nail for our welfare state. Solidarity with disabled people against cuts.

Over 300 people demonstrated in Norwich against the disability cuts. Clive Lewis MP spoke and reaffirmed his intention to vote against the cuts. Thanks to everyone who attended and to the organisers from DPAC Norfolk

Cuts to disability benefits will push 250,000 people into poverty, including 50,000 children. Let that sink in. Disabled people already experience higher levels of poverty compared to non-disabled people. Cuts to benefits will make this worse ✂️ It’s entirely unacceptable.

What sort of real consultation is this when those affected can’t get in?
Just an update: We did eventually get in and we stopped the DWP consultation and did one for all disabled people to oppose the Green Paper. @GranadaReports @ElaineWITV

If Labour decision makers think “reviewing” Winter Fuel Allowance will save them, they’re not living in same world as rest of us. Only scrapping of WFA cut & dropping completely plans to cut benefits to disabled will show that as PM claimed, “he gets it.” theguardian.com/society/2025…

Labour losing Runcorn was avoidable and as much a result of our party’s failures as Reform’s rise. Now, we need to learn the right lessons, not double down on the same mistakes. Cutting disability benefits and scrapping the Winter Fuel Allowance made voters abandon us. [1/3]

Yes!
Today’s results show that Labour needs to deliver the actual change people voted for - offering real hope by reversing ever-widening inequality. Dropping plans to cut disability benefits and properly taxing the very richest in society would be a good place to start.
