Pleased to see this important issue receiving attention. Use of inconsistent and euphemistic language for restraint can obscure reality of school restraint practices for families - eg ‘calm room’ for empty padded seclusion room.
DfE-commissioned research on how reasonable force, restraint and restrictive practices are used in APs and special schools was released yesterday. I had a read to pick notable insights and how they could inform future guidance - #8 is very notable. tes.com/magazine/analysis/sp…

It was a privilege to give the opening talk of the all-day event on AI and VR in the SEND classroom, organised by the fabulous Professor David Brown and team. I particularly respect their deep commitment to co-production of tech. with people with learning disabilities.

Such a great event with challenging speakers and opportunities to share our passion for Early Childhood. I was so proud of my students who presented their posters about aspects of sustainability in childhood. They were professional and knowledgeable about their chosen area🤩
What lovely feedback 🤩 Thank you @AaronTeamEC for taking part as speaker and in the discussions.
This is exactly what @TheVoiceOfEC aims to do - bring together contrasting opinions in a respectful and professional way 🙌🏽
