Please stop using Mount Rushmore as a metaphor for the top four of something. That's not why Gutzon Borglum chose Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt for the monument. Washington represents the start of the nation. Jefferson represents expansion. Lincoln represents preservation, and Roosevelt represents the growth into a global superpower. He chose them because they represent four key stages in American history.
