A referee in the 14th Region was arrested in Rupp Arena in 1984 for bookmaking at the state tournament.
Referee pled guilty and was given probation.

Marshall County star Mary Taylor broke the school scoring record held by Barry Goheen in February of 1987. She went on to both play and coach at WKU.

Last Friday the Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit in Louisiana stayed the preliminary injunction that granted relief to Tulane footballer, Kameron Hamilton. Order entered 30 minutes before kick-off. Hamilton didn't play.
