Christopher Luxon went ahead with his plans to change electoral laws, despite warnings from his own attorney general the changes could breach human rights law and exclude more than 100,000 voters.
That is what happened and he should be held accountable.

Good luck finding one of those on Twitter.
They’re all on Facebook laughing at AI generated dogs riding bicycles.

The Attorney-General said the enrolment deadline law limited voting rights; critics said it favoured the government by blocking late enrolments, hitting young and Māori voters hardest. Wouldn’t have been this close without this administrational manipulation.

🚨 Thierry Henry launches furious attack on the refereeing against Liverpool:
“At some point, we have to stop pretending these decisions are normal. I understand football is a difficult game to officiate, but what exactly are we watching here?
Liverpool are competing for points, not asking for favours. You cannot make decisions like that and expect everyone to simply move on. The referee has a responsibility, VAR has a responsibility, and today I think they have failed Liverpool.
If that happens to Arsenal, Manchester City or Real Madrid, believe me, we would be talking about it for the next three days. But because it’s Liverpool, everybody suddenly wants to remain quiet.”

Seeing job sites flying their 🇹🇴 or 🇼🇸 flags is a win for us poly tradies. We’ll be working on tower cranes on high-rises, bridges, scaffolding, civil/mining sites and heavy machinery. And we still hitch the colours up and represent!

Something is different in Tonga camp today, intensity has gone to another level leading into the Samoa clash.
I think as Aussies we know this game is big, but I don't think we've fully comprehended just how much this game matters to these two teams, nations and cultures though.
Strap in, this one is different.

I can now understand why Liverpool saw him in the market and turned their backs on him. Liverpool is a smart club.

Luis Suárez left Barcelona, joined Atlético Madrid and won them La Liga. Since his departure, they haven’t won it again despite spending millions. That tells you how elite Suárez was.
Stop comparing him to Harry Kane because of one Ballon d’Or. Kane’s win was driven by a compelling story, not being the most deserving candidate. Compare Kane to Benzema and Agüero. The only striker of Suárez’s generation on his level is Lewandowski. Period.

I’ve watched one of these so-called scientific comparisons where they put a professional baseball player against a local American cricket club player.
The cricketer initially struggled against baseball pitching, but eventually adapted his cricket technique and started making contact.
Then came the baseball player’s turn. They handed him a cricket bat, gave him no protective pads and had someone deliver what were effectively gentle underarm balls. Unsurprisingly, he smashed them.
And somehow that was supposed to prove baseball batting is harder?
What an absurd comparison.
Here’s an experiment I’d actually like to see.
Put that same professional baseball player in front of a 6’7” international fast bowler charging in at full pace, delivering balls at 90–95 mph, varying the line and length, swinging the ball, getting it to seam off the pitch and peppering him with short deliveries rising towards his chest and head.
Now ask him not just to make contact, but to select the correct shot, protect his wicket and deliberately place the ball between strategically positioned fielders to score runs.
Because that’s the part these comparisons conveniently ignore.
Cricket batting isn’t simply about hitting a ball. It’s about scoring runs while defending your wicket against a bowler actively trying to exploit your technique.
A batsman must judge speed, bounce, movement, line and length, select from an enormous range of shots and control the placement of the ball, all within fractions of a second.
And if the pace doesn’t get you, let’s introduce an international spin bowler who can deceive you with flight, dip, turn and changes in pace.
I’d be fascinated to see how much contact that baseball player makes then, never mind how many runs he scores.
I’m not suggesting professional baseball batting is easy. Far from it. But you cannot demonstrate one sport’s superiority by testing a professional from one against an amateur from the other, then removing practically everything that makes the second sport difficult.
That’s not science. That’s a demonstration designed around a predetermined conclusion.
Pretty good team here
