The Tour De France has been on free to air TV here since 1985. The early versions were part of the fabric of my childhood. It’s shameful then that today was the last on ITV as it moves behind a paywall. As great as TNT’s coverage is - and it is - this isn’t how you grow a sport.

I seem to have upset the @Nigel_Farage fan club - so let me be clear. This man sows hate, lies and division. He is a grifter and a conman. He does not represent the vast majority of Britons. RT if you agree P.s. multiculturalism is great.

Spent the day driving round the wilds of west Cumbria on polling station inspection duty. As well as doing my civic duty it gave me a chance to catch up on the brilliant @neverstraysfar podcast. Thanks for the company on my ever so slightly less glamorous journey

I mean, as a view on a bit of a slog of a long run you can’t go wrong… 5 weeks to go @TheLakeland100 😬 #lakeland50

Where to bloody start? There isn't enough British food to buy because the crass, malformed, malignant clown-show of Brexit that you promoted, has undermined food production, courtesy of ill-thought out subsidies. Plus, brexit-driven border controls have stymied imports.
We shouldn’t be reliant on foreign food. Buy British.

This is so well deserved, such a brilliant and moving book. I’ve bought copies of it for friends @CraigJBarker and family who have all loved it as much as me. Congratulations @nedboulting 👏👏

Remember that when you're standing at the ballot box in 4 weeks time.
The Environment Act had an amendment calling for a reduction in sewage spills. Tory MPs changed the wording to a reduction in the IMPACT of sewage spills. Thus water companies don't have to pump out less sewage, they can just pump it further out to sea.

I love him, it is joyful to watch someone who so clearly loves what he does. And more importantly my little boy, who was never interested in cycling, has been rushing out of school so he can watch the end of stages to see how Pogi has done, chapeau @TamauPogi 👍

Running performance might be somewhat lacking at the moment but when you get to run somewhere like this can’t be that bad eh? Feel so lucky to live here ☺️

That was incredible, not sure small person appreciated being dragged out of bed, but I’ve wanted to see the northern lights my whole life so wanted to make sure he got to experience it 🤩 #Auroraborealis
