Aid was introduced after WWII to restore Europe, then it went to developing countries mainly for fighting poverty, responding to humanitarian crises & to stabilise conflict countries. Today the total volume is about $204 billion (OECD). But it has peaked, we are seeing declines, and we see a repurposing of aid -- instead of going toward poverty, humanitarian, stabilising countries, it is being diverted to host migrants, promote trade, and for migration control. #DecolonizeAid
I was honoured to join yesterday's @Yale @OfficialYPU fireside chat to share my thoughts on how we #DecolonizeAid. So inspiring to speak with young people and engage their fresh minds. Here are some the thoughts I shared.

“87% of youth under 30 live in the Global South” I learned this yesterday at the launch of the Chrysalis Youth Fund. That means that when we speak about youth, and support systems for youth, the room should be 87% Global South. – at Manhattan, NY
