New preprint from @Loolibear ! Leah looked into bedaquiline (BDQ) resistance in Mtb in Johannesburg and Cape Town, and then more widely in S Africa. In brief, she found repeated evolution of resistance by disruption (FS, nonsense, IS-element!) of mmpR5

When is it suitable to stop long-term treatment of Takayasu autoimmune vasculitis? @R_maughan & colleagues at @ImperialNHLI outline the importance of stratifying patients in this cohort & the factors to consider when deciding if it is safe to stop treatment. #Takayasu #autoimmune
Although the ACR and EULAR have introduced guidelines for initial treatment of #TakayasuArteritis, Robert Maughan, explains that there is little to no data available to guide decisions on whether treatment can be safely stopped.
