PS5 now runs SteamOS... a community project called Bazzite boots a jailbroken PlayStation 5 straight into Steam's Gaming Mode, the same interface as the Steam Deck, with a full KDE desktop.
It runs from a USB drive (32 GB or more), started by rmux's PS5 Linux loader. The console itself isn't modified, so restarting it brings back a normal PS5. Steam games run through Proton, with support for 4K60 over HDMI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the DualSense. It needs a PS5 on a firmware the loader supports (tested on 13.60), and the PS5 Pro got first support in v1.8.4.

🚨 UFC 5 PS5 emulation on PC just went from a slideshow to hitting around 80 FPS in the latest KytyPS5 footage! 🤯
• Earlier KytyPS5 testing had UFC 5 running at only a few FPS
• More recent testing reached 45–55 FPS
• New footage is now showing performance climbing toward ~80 FPS
• Tested on a Ryzen 7 9800X3D + RTX 4080
• The test uses Cozmaaa’s KytyPS5 fork/build 42bb0da
• Shaders were precompiled to reduce compilation stutter
• VBlank was increased to remove the normal 60 FPS limit
• IMPORTANT: Going above 60 FPS currently exceeds PS5 standard which will end up with optimizations.
Going from single-digit performance ➡️ 45–55 FPS ➡️ peaks around 80 FPS shows just how KytyPS5 performance is improving.

SKATE 2 GOT A FULL RUST REWRITE 🚨
This is EASILY the best rewrite I've ever seen, and it shows what's possible with some time and effort.
The creator, wispp, has rebuilt Skate 2 from the ground up as a native PC game for Windows, Linux and Steam Deck. It's not an emulator or a recompilation. It's the game's real physics, animation and city rebuilt in Rust, with an uncapped frame rate.
He even rebuilt the netcode. The original desynced whole lobbies, but now online play is way smoother, with up to 8 skaters, a lobby browser and chat.
