"Slop" was a problem before AI, AI just lets the same people churn it out super fast. For the web, the real problem is rewarding clout, money and quantity over care and quality. Maybe algorithms should be reformed to embrace quality, but I don't know how that could be built.

6-11 age bracket for shows is dead. Convo I had with a 9 year old relative in 2018: "What shows do you like watching?" "What do you mean shows?" "Like, on Nickelodeon" "What's Nickelodeon?" "Uh... what do you like watching on your phone?" "Stuff like Minecraft playthroughs".
Since AI can reverse engineer and make any software "open source" in some regards, I don't think companies will take this lying down. Could it lead to stricter regulations towards reverse engineering anything, even old games for ROM Hacks?
I tried and it fails to get basic mechanics and hit detection right. Even featured games have obvious problems. This doesn't seem worth anyone's time if they want to produce a quality game, even for quick prototyping. Play my genned trash for yourself: playground.google/g/gukCh9
A big purpose of these is to allow ease of ROM hacking and mods. Responsible AI usage may yield respectable results, however many just blind vibe code. Surface may look solid, but if the insides are incomprehensible spaghetti code that even AI can't comprehend, that's a problem.

Can anyone recommend good Metroidvania design tutorials that go over more than just the basics? I feel like my game is missing something but I can't quite figure out what that is.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around to what coding's become and adapt it in a way that doesn't damage quality or my principles. It's difficult to learn when so many claim to have the answers but contradict each other. Other coders: how do you adjust in the modern workforce?
